Different calipers, too.

I believe Hawk does have HPS for the 07/08 S models now, as does Raybestos (same company). Carbotech also has a variety of pads available, most made to order.

Lots. The S (07/08) has larger and thicker rotors and a different design for the calipers (single larger piston up front). Complete specs is on p. 62 of the "BR.pdf" file of the FSM.

The Akebono-equipped Sport uses an even larger rotor still, the caliper will fit over the smaller "S" rotor from above, but there's going to be lots of overhang and the pads will be loose. Yes, it will fit, but it won't work.

I've seen these mentioned a lot lately, but haven't seen any real comparisons.
How do they compare with HPS etc?

really depends on how hard you drive/brake.. driving style.. i run through pads within 6-7 months.. approx 2500 miles a month, but have found hawks to hold up pretty long (9 mos. ish?) heard some things good about project mu. check em out.
