Wheel / Rim / Offset Question (yes another one)

Hello all, yes another Wheel / Tire question.

First off this is for an S (not AWD). I'm looking at getting a set (4) of the Five Axis S5:F 19x8.5 +45.

I'm planning to put some Yokohama S.drive:
245/40/19 - Front
255/40/19 - Back

Is the offset a little too soft or does everything check out? Thanks for the input!

If you're not lowered, I think +45mm will look okay. Btw, your stock rear is 8.5" wide +50mm so just imagine your new rims 5mm further out. Why get 255/40/19" for the rear? If I were you (i.e. 8.5" wide rims on all four corners), I'd just get 245/40/19 tires all around so I can rotate tires.

One guy did 33mm's on some 10" or 10.5" ine wheels like these and I think he sold them. That's too aggressive unless you are going to do some crazy camber. I have Eibach's, and iforged 20x10 - approx 40mm with the camber kit to get them into spec. I had 260 pound of fertilized in my trunk today- that's a years worth for my yard, NOT a bomb . My tires where barely tucked inside my fender, with "maybe" .25 inches to spare and 70+ mph I wouldn't want mine any more agressive than that. I think the next strong offset might be a better option but don't go crazy. If mine were as aggresive as some might suggest (see above) I would have had two blow outs today and probably ruined both rear rims... That my two cents.

+45 on a 19x8.5 is pretty weak.
I'd say at least go somewhere around +35 or even lower on 8.5 wide rims.

And why would you run 255/40 19 in the rear?
If you aren't running a staggered set up, I'd suggest 245/40 19 all the way around.

GL.

Thanks for the replies. Yes i was also thinking of just running 245s all around which is why went with the non-staggered size. The vendor also suggested the +35.

It sounds like 19x8.5 +35 w/ 245/40/19s all around should fit no problem.

As for drop, if I ever do decide to drop it I was thinking of getting the impul springs.

Thanks all for the replies.

if -1.8 camber is crazy, then i'd hate to hear your opinion on -3.5 camber. Capthook, who was running the 19x10.5 +33 with a 275/35 tire was under -2 camber which is completely normal for a sports car.

OP, if your car is not lowered, it will look decent, but why by aftermarket wheels that are going to fit almost the same as stock? The best offset for you would be around +30 with a 245/40 all around, even if you're not lowered.

They fit just fine on stock height, no rubbing. Here's a pic of Nismo A34's, 19x8.5 +35 on 245/40/19s.

Soundmike, thanks for the picture it was very helpful.

"why by aftermarket wheels that are going to fit almost the same as stock" - Gdup35sedan
Well I'm using the stock rims for winters and needed a new set of rim for summers. I'd rather have the nicer looking wheels for summer time driving.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think what GDUP35SEDAN was trying to say was...

"why would you drop the cash on aftermarket rims if you are going w/ such a conservative offset similar to OEMs?"

I agree w/ him that you should go somewhere close to +30 all around. I am currently running 19x8.5 +35 ET all around on 245/40 19. I am satisfied w/ the fronts but I feel that I should go more aggressive in the rear.. maybe a 5mm or 10mm spacer would do the trick.

crazystand, you're welcome.

J2S2M, 10 would probably be more noticeable, although 5 would be easiest to accomplish as you can use the existing studs. With my old 5mm spacers i could still get a good 8-9 turns out of the lugnuts. You can refer to TR's chart here.

^ those offsets are wayyyy too weak. You will regret it later.. especially after a drop!
I know I did.

Sorry Ultraman I don't have any pictures handy. I just put my winter wheels/rims on or I'd go out and take a picture for you.

I dropped the stagger on mine and got 4x Five Axis S5:F 19x8.5 +30offset.

The +30 offset that people responded with is perfectly flush. I am extremely happy with the look.

As for the deals, well the place I got mine from looks to have gone out of business. The website is down so I'm not really sure.
