Custom Koni Yellow Setup for X sedan

Just wanted to let all of the X owners know that today I purchased 4 new OE shocks which will be sent to Truechoice, who specialize in building custom shocks. My setup will be 1 way adjustable + Impul springs. I got tired of waiting and I know that when they are completed the ride will be much closer to real CO and the total price is about 2k including the OE shocks.
Stay tuned...

That's sweet. I've have Koni sport adjustables in two other cars and have nothing but good things to say about them. Hopefully we'll have some options in the future without going custom.

yup, whatever happens, as of now I have to bridge the gap between springs and Coils, they are just way too soft for my liking, but they are the best springs i've owned in my auto owning experience.

I always liked to experiment.
And for those who wonder why i'm keeping the Impusl, well i also placed an order on the front chin spoiler and I really do not want to scrape it all to hell with bigger drops. I actually enjoy the balanced look of the Impuls, doesn't look ghetto. I'll post periodically when i get future updates....

Small update:

Today i got a call from Phil@TrueChoice, long story short, initially it was impossible to simply insert the Konis into the original strut housings, so they are going to do some reconstructive surgery on the strut housings in order to fit in their Koni yellows.

Total cost is $1500 shipped.... Should take a few weeks....Next update will include pictures of the received product...

Ouch. $1500 plus the price of the Impul springs (which are already too much $$).

Ouch. Gotta do what you gotta do, but again, OUCH.

there are no other options, BUT good coils like KW V3's are about $2200, which is basically the price of the Impuls + Labor for custom shocks, so the only thing i am paying extra for are the OEM shocks ($450)

not a bad compromise, we'll just have to wait and see how they feel and how long they last.
