$600 for GoodYear Eagle GTs - Deal or No Deal?

Just got a quote from my local tire shop; $600 for GTs including wheel balancing made me . Is this price fair or should I continue to price quote?

Any Help is Appreciated.

Not bad for NYC, after all they are fairly expensive tires. See if you can get them to throw in alignment. Check out Tire Rack for best price on the Goodyears.

Thanks for the reply. And for some reason $600 was the average price quote I got from the many tire shops I called, around 8. So I ordered them on Friday, should be arriving tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

You did't say what size, but my 245-40-19 GT's were $205 each at Discount Tire. It sounds fair to me.

I ran Eagle GT's for years until I drove on better tires.
That's a good price but I think you can find better tires.

These aren't the same as the "old" Eagle GTs - I am running the new asymmetric thread version and GTs handle quite well in the snow and wet weather - handled today's long commute with lots of rain and flooding like champs. They did get noisier after 10K. However, $600 balanced is a bit much for them (I assume the OP is running a set of stock 17" rims (as I am) and is based in NYC). I was able to get them for less than $110 each at TireRack (after rebate) shipped to a local Goodyear installer; mounting/balancing was $60 or so. Just checked: TireRack raised the price of GTs by $10 per tire since then.

This website saved me a buttload of cash on tires.

Just had the tires shipped to the tire shop where I was going to get them installed.
