TPMS recalibration needed?

Im looking at picking up a set of G37 rims with TPMS already installed on them. will i have to take it to the dealer to calibrate those TPMS sensors to my car or will it pick them up automatically?

if its not your stock sensors then you will need to have them activated to your car.

quoted me an hour of labor... geez. the beads are already unseated off the G37 rims (took off his TPMS but still has them) i was thinking of having them unseat my sport 18s, remove my sensors and transfer them to the new rims... he is willing to come off the price by 100 without the sensors as well.

Anybody take their car to a Nissan dealer to get those recalibrated. Do they charge less?

how do they recalibrate them? i am getting new rims in a few days with tpms's already on there and i will need mine recalibrated too. do they need to take the tpms off the rims to recalibrate them or do they calibrate them when they are on the rims with the rims mounted on the car?

They pass some magic wand looking thing on the wheels with the tpms and that's it. The wheels and tpms are not removed from the car.

They don't do anything to the wheel sensors at all. They reprogram the BCM to recognize the coded signal transmitted from the new wheel sensors.

Yup, just reprogramming. 1st dealer wanted over 100 bucks, next dealer wanted $42 I believe, took it there.
