Urgent input/advice needed on e-brake-vdc-slip-cruise lights coming on!
Whats goin on guys,
I have a 07 g35x (came with 13k on it last july, has 22k right now). So i was driving this past weekend and while i am on the highway, as i am driving, the e-brake parking light comes on all of a sudden, and then the VDC and SLIP light comes on, and since i had my cruise control on, the CRUISE light came on as well. Car was fine, didnt feel anything wrong, but those lights stayed on. I pulled over, turned off my car and turned it back on, they were all gone. Then a few minutes after i got back on the highway, it did it again. I took a picture of it. Here it is.
Called the dealership today and told them about it, they say that THAT MEANS MY BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED. HAS ANYONE ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM/ DOES ANYONE KNOW THOSE R THE SIGNS FOR getting NEW BRAKES? I am just trying to find out if the dealership is just trying to sell me new brakes or that is indeed the case.
I AM TAKING MY CAR WEDNESDAY AM SO ANY INPUT/ADVICE WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED! Thanks guys!

I just checked my brake fluid and it is half full, do u think it still could be te brake fluid that if I top it to the max, it will be fine? Or would that still be a temporarty fix?
tw, quick question, I have the 100k bumper to bumper warranty on the car, do u think the pads would be covered under it? I have till Wednesday morning to know all the info. Thanks guys.

Okay... you're a friend so I can say this.
Use the friggen search function! There have to be at least 10 threads on this exact subject.

Brake pads are not covered under warranty... they're a wear item, like windshield wiper blades and tires.
The brakes on the G do go pretty quickly. You can also plan on seeing the rears wear before the fronts which is also not very common. This is caused by the VDC using the rear brakes quite a bit.
Plan on spending a couple hundred per axle at the dealer... and that's if they don't touch the rotors. You can easily do the job yourself in your driveway in less than an hour.
Adding fluid is a temporary fix. You are only replacing the fluid that is now being used to push the caliper piston further out. As soon as the new pads are installed, that extra fluid will need to be removed to avoid having your reservoir being over full.
I haven't seen the Cruise light thrown into the mix yet but it makes sense. Cruise can be disabled for a number of reasons, like having the wipers on low or high, or if the ICC sensor is dirty or hit with solar glare. Having a brake problem (like low fluid) is most likely another trigger.
