I personally wouldn't get the EBC pads or the rotors. I'd get Axxis Ult brake pads since they are about the same price range as the EBC pads. I'd probably get Rotora or better rotors. I don't need cross drilled rotors and didn't feel any improvements when going to slotted rotors so I'd stick with the unmolested rotors.
Stay away from Hawk HPS pads unless you want to shell out $500 for an insurance deductible. I have oem akebono pads on my g37 and they suck. I have project mu ns pads on the rear / oem fronts and they are solid.

Infiniti/Nissan are known to provide decent quality brakes but they are inferior on the track. I recall reading Car and Driver and Infiniti/Nissan CEO said that they design the brakes to withstand street driving and not tracking. They started offering upgraded sport brake pads on the Z's.
If you're driving hard I would recomend going with an aftermarket set-up. Which? I don't know but I've heard that Power Slot Rotors + Hawks HPS/Akenobo pads are a good combo.

I ran Hawk HPS pads + Powerslot slotted rotors + Goodridge SS Lines on my Maxima. I intend to do the same thing on my G35 when its time for a brake change. Hawk pads do make more noise than the Akebono pads in my opinion but Hawk grip better from what Ive felt.

I had a Maxima, compared to the OEM pads, the HPS did grab better when it reached operating temperature, but they're subpar in any type of cold stops. They didn't perform particularly well on the track either.

I've always like HPS pads. I don't track and have heard they weren't good when cold but never had a problem. Switched to HP Ceramic this time around and so far so good! Seem as good as OE but hardly any dust at all!

^ I think the type of vehicle has some to do with it, too. On my old Max, it felt almost like the Axxis MM's when cold... hardly any bite. I nearly ran over a neighbor's kid just as i pulled out one morning. I was going no faster than 15 or 20mph. One could just hear the pad/rotors slide. The curb stopped the car. Swapped it out with Akebono SP's as soon as it arrived in the mail, just a few days later.

i always use nissan genuine parts. (since i work at nissan) and never had one problem. i dont recommend you to hit the track with oem pads. one thing about oem pads is the DUST. oem pads release so much dust! you cant keep the clean car look for more than a week untill you notice the front wheels start to brown up.

Funny you say that. On the G, I arrived at the track with sparkling new silver wheels, after the morning session i had black front wheels.

I am biased because I like my brakes to stop my car every time I hit the brake pedal (not just when the pads are warmed up)? You and a few others are reporting that HPS work well for you and that's great, but that flies in the face of many reports and reviews on various sites (including this one) claiming poor cold-stopping performance with Hawks HPS. Cold stopping performance does not mean "weather" necessarily - it means initial braking before the pads had a chance to get warm. By many accounts HPS pads have a terrible initial bite, much worse than stock pads. I have the HPS pads which I bought a while ago but I'm not chancing putting them on. One look at this thread, and several others like it, is enough to convince those who use the G as a DD NOT to get HPS.Originally Posted by hi-tek22
