Opinion on Brake Choice, Please

Yes, I have read the 50 posts on what brakes to get but unfortunately, it only confused me more.

Readers Digest version....I have about two or three weeks left on my fronts and would like to get the most bang for my buck. I don't need performance stopping power but I'm not going to use "corner store" brakes either. I can probably get a fair deal on a stock setup from where I used to work but found this combo online. It seemed to be a good deal for the money. A couple of reinforcing opions would help, though.

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/basket.php

Just over $200.00 with no shipping or tax.

Thanks....

Mike

btw....2007 G35x

I just replaced my front and rear pads with Bendix Ceramics for under $100-

The nice thing about Bendix is the lifetime warranty. Fill out the card that comes with the pads and send it in.
The next time you buy pads for the same vehicle, send that new card in and receive a refund.
Feels as good as stock with little to no brake dust.

Rotors...http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...n+%26+Steering

Let's see if those are readable.

I've posted this in other threads already, but considering you have a G35x (meaning, likely live in a climate with "real" winters) then I would steer clear of Hawk HPS pads. They have a poor initial bite in cold weather and are generally suited for those who live in warmer climates year round. Bought set of Hawk HPS fronts/rears without properly researching first but now will be fleabaying it. I am now running stock pads but am leaning towards Bendix pads that AesonVirus mentioned above for my next pad change (and replacing stock rotors with Centric Premium blanks).

I live Houston and i still wouldn't recommend the HPS primarily for the main reason. It takes more than ambient temperatures to get it hot enough to perform as well as the OEM for anything other than all-out high-performance driving, at which point there are even better alternatives to HPS.

I appreciate all the info but noone has yet commented on the choices that I thought were pretty good. They are EBC Green pads and EBC plain rotors.

Anyone??

Thanks..

Mike

I bought the Bendix ceramics like Aeson and they are pretty good. very minimal brake dust, if any, and low noise... It's not as grabby as OEM's on the initial bite, but it is strong enough for me. I use them on EBC sport rotors.

Are there any options out there for ceramic pads that have a similar 'bite' as the OEM pads?

Why not just get some slotted rotors and oem pads? Unless you are tracking the car the oem pads are going to be more than enough to stop the car along with the added benefit of the slotted rotors. I had Hawk ceramics on my last car and they began squeaking after a while even with slotted rotors.
