Staggered Wheels

Can someone please explain what it means to have staggered rims?

It just means one pair of wheels/tires are wider or larger than the other. It's usually the rears being the wider pair.

Unless, of course, you're a FWD dragster where it's the fronts.

If one rim is wider than the other, eg. 8 and 8.5, but the tires are the same size on both rims, is that staggered? Will the overall wheel dimensions be the same? If not, where is the difference? If the difference is minimal, can you rotates the wheels between them? Thanks.

Still staggered wheels. Wheel widths are different by 0.5". Front and rear tires can be rotated if they are the same size by removing tires from wheels.

a coupe guy I came across was able to rotate his sport 19's all being the same size tire and different wheel widths.

only difference running the same size is the tire on the 8.5 will have a slight more stretch than the other. and the tire on the 8.0 will have more tread touching the ground than the other.
