Need feedback on HANKOOK Ventus V12 EVO staggered size

I want to get the HANKOOK Ventus V12 EVO tires for my OEM staggered 18" wheels. OEM setup is: Front Tire 225/50R-18 and 245/45R-18 for rear. Problem is the Ventus V12 doesn't come in 225/50R. What alternate combo can I use? Members with these tires, please advise.

Hmm, why did you choose to go with the 255's in the back instead of like 265?

I didn't want to risk the tire slipping off since I do a lot of spirited driving . People on here have ran 275's before with no issues, but after putting the 255's on and seeing how they fit, I've decidied to go no wider then that.

That is one thing I do not want, bulging out of the tire. It looks ugly. I went ahead and learned a bit about tire sizing. Good explanation here for those who don't know what the #s mean. Based on that information and keeping as close to OEM as possible, what would be the problem with 225/45ZR18 for fronts and 245/40ZR18 for rears? That translates to a 5% decrease on section height while keeping the width of the tires the same.

The below link includes useful info and links you should look at. The "miata" link is a good tool.

235/50 on the front is the next logical step up in size. 225/45 is noticeably shorter.

Can't really generalize those widths for the 2nd gen set-up, especially the 18s, especially since the OEM staggered rims our ours is narrower than on the 19 coupes.

^My mistake, just reaearched and found the sedan sizes. Just realized this is the sedan section too......
18" 5 split spoke (2005+ Sedan optional)
Front & Rear: 18"x7.5" (+45mm)

18" Wheels - split 7 spoke alloys (2007 Sedan)
- Front - 7.5" x 18" with 45mm offset with 225/50R18 W rated summer performance tires.
- Rear - 8.5" x 18" with 50mm offset with 245/45R18 W rated summer performance tires.

They don't have that size. Why would 225/45 be shorter? The section width is still the same, 225. There is a just a decrease in total diameter of the wheel+tire.

Here are the options:

215/40ZR18
215/45ZR18
225/40ZR18
225/45ZR18
235/40ZR18
245/35ZR18
245/40ZR18
245/45ZR18
255/35ZR18
255/40ZR18
255/45ZR18
265/35ZR18
265/40ZR18
275/35ZR18
275/40ZR18
285/30ZR18
285/35ZR18
295/30ZR18

You can't just choose the tire based on the width, because it's a ratio

You should use the tire calculator to be sure you're not too +/- over the stock diameter

I understand the section height is a percentage of the width. I am not sure what you mean by ratio. The tire calculator just tells me the diameter difference and how mph is affected. It doesn't really tell me if it fits or not.

^Use the calculator to compare the overall diameter of both front and rear tires. As long as they don't differ too much you'll be fine. EX- My setup only has a .2" difference in diameter between the two, too small to affect the VDC .

I wonder how 225/45 and 255/45 would look
