Dumb question about mounting winter rims

Ok, so my winter rim/tire combo arrived from Tire Rack and I'm trying to mount them. Car is a 2007 G35S 5AT

Removed front, driver side wheel. In addition to the 5 lugs, there is a cylinder (~0.5" diameter, 1" long) protruding from the wheel hub. This protruding cylinder prevents the wheel from fitting on because the protruding cylinder does not line up with one of the trapezoidal openings that are between the lug holes on the wheel.

Is this protruding thing necessary, did TR send the wrong wheels???

TIA

That is just to remind you not to install the stock rear wheels on the front. You need to remove it to use aftermarket wheels.

Great...

Thanks for the quick response...I figured it was to ensure you don't screw up the staggered setup.
