Still having brake issues...

Well when i first got the car i felt the roughness as i call it in the break..not pulsating...its like i can feel the brake bad on the rotor though the brake pedal. Brought it back in..they looked at the front brakes and everything was fine...what they did was resurface the front rotors but didn't put new pads on..could this be the issue? Not replacing the pads as well?

At low speeds i can feel it in the wheel now..like sand paper..its like i can feel the front axel moving or the rotor moving though the wheel and brake pedal..what else could it be if they checked the rotors and pads?

The wheel doesn't shake when i brake..just roughness..hard to explain

Could it be the back brakes?

There is a TSB on the front brake issues. Ask your dealer about it. The service will include new rotors, pads, backing plate, and hardware. I had mine done at 27k. I am nearing 50k now, and experiencing some issues again. Will probably mention it to my service advisor when I go back next time.

Would a Nissan Dealer know about this?

TSB is not warranty. Should still be covered for you. Contact your local Infiniti dealership. Doesn't matter if you bought your car used or new.. they should still cover TSB's.

TSB's are service bulletins which inform the service dept of known issues and how to correct them.
The dealer should perform these for no cost when the car is under warranty but they are not required to perform the work for free if the car is NOT under warranty.
Don't confuse TSBs with Recalls.

Anton. I'd start by replacing your pads. It sounds like your rotors are in good shape. Otherwise, you'd have "judder" or a shake in the wheel under braking conditions.

Start there. We're neighbors... if you're not sure how to do your pads and need help, we can set something up soon. I'll help.

****ty how Infiniti can't get a good brake for that much money. Not asking something for tracking the car Just something what works without warping the damn rotors on the street.

Infiniti is not as good value as it used to be either. Yest still cheaper than the 3 series but has nothing special. Hope they will change things around with the next generation or I will be taking my $$ somewhere else.

Did your brakes do the same thing?

I am surprised they didn't replace the pads when they machined the rotors. I called an infiniti dealer round here and they are going to take a look at it next week..i just need a second opinion and someone else to drive it to see what they say. And yeah the steering wheel doesn't shake when i brake..only at fast speeds which is likely due to out of balance tires..i wonder if the two issues are related? I ve done the pads myself on my old car...these pretty self explanatory as well?

Its a long shot but did you try bedding the pads into the new rotors? This might minimize or eliminate some of your issues, it could just be the pads are not properly mated to the surface of the rotor.

How would one do this? Does it take time for the old pads to meet the new machined rotor?

I had warped rotors and they are comming back again. Infiniti just doesn't have usefull brake system. Not impressive that's for sure. Damn cavalier has better brake than we have. Never ever had warped rotors in my 20 years experience on street used cars till I stepped in Infiniti's world.

When I'll have to change mine I will go with other make. Not going with oem. It will cost a little more but at least it will be working as it suppose to.

just go with r1concept rotors and you'll be happy u did, 35k+ miles and no problems so far no warped rotors to date and they cost me less than oem and are of a higher grade 3500 vs 2800.
