TPMS light suddenly gone

I have M45 rims w/ old gen TPMS sensors on my 07 sedan. I've gotten used to the TPMS light being on for the past year, but recently I noticed its no longer on. I'm not really complaining, but I can't help but wonder if the light burned out, the car finally gave up and shut the monitor down, or if the dealer was kind enough to program old sensors to the 07 (which I didnt think was possible) and didnt even tell me.

I might let some air out of a tire to see if they still work. Anyone know what might be going on?

When you first turn your car on does the light go on during the system self test?

^ very interesting but not knowing why it went away is not much help if it does turn on in the beginning then maybe the dealer did in fact program the tpms (guessing you went there recently) or the sensor system has just stopped checking which would be awesome if it happened for me as well.

I just put G37 rims on my sedan.. anyone know how much the dealer would charge to program the new TPMS sensors? I'm not sure if i can deal with that dashboard light for a few years like you guys.

Yeah, I had a scheduled maintenance trip to the dealer for oil change and tire rotation. I also was able to get my front rotors and pads replaced under the brake judder TSB. Since then, no more TPMS light. They did ask me about the TPMS light and I said it is on because the rims are from an M45 and the TPMS does not match. They never mentioned fixing them. I was fine with the light but no light is even better!

The only reason it intrigues me is because I have never heard of old gen TPMS being programmed with second gen G, nor have I ever heard of the car disabling the system on its own, it was on for over a year and 15K miles before this and has been off for about a month and 500 miles, well over 2 dozen car starts.

Prob depends on the dealer but I have heard $40 from some people. I wouldnt be surprised if it was $100.

Update

So, tonight I was finally filling up at a gas station that had free air and remembered my TMPS curiosity. So I decided to deflate one of my tires and low and behold the TPMS light turned on. Pumped the tire back up and the TPMS light stayed on....starting to doubt my luck and curse myself I drive off, but eventually the light turned off.

Looked at my service records and I see no mention of them resetting my TPMS' so I guess they did it out of generosity. In any case, I now have M45 take-off rims with 1st gen TPMS sensors functioning in my 2nd gen G35.
