OEM Struts ----> Tokico's

At the end of March I installed the Eibach pro-kit springs and just used the stock OEM struts. They already had 52k miles on them so I knew it was a gamble going with them but figured they'd get me through 1 summer.... wrong. I'm at 56k now and the front left strut was completely gone. I picked up a set of G37 couple Tokico blues on Ebay ($320 shipped) and wow what a difference. I liked the ride with just the springs and OEM struts but you could feel that the car was under-dampened, especially on the freeway hitting larger bumps. The Tokico's have fixed that problem and I would recommend them to anyone looking the lower their G on just springs/struts. I would also sometimes get wheel hop with the OEM struts but now the car stays planted on aggressive launches. Tearing down the suspension the second time went much quicker since all the bolts had been broken just a few months back. I'd recommend changing the struts out right away if you have higher mileage like I did.

Only the HP Blues are for our G's (at least to my knowledge) here is a link for the part number..

We will have to forgive them for the spelling.

I have had a few people PM me asking about to Tokico's here is a link from when I was first getting everything installed it should help answer some questions.

Also the G37 coupes and our suspensions are interchangeable with each other. There is no need for any kind of modification if you are using the HPs. The HPs are said to be 20% stiffer then our OEM struts (which are also Tokico) which will make them a better pair for our stiffer springs.

^ thanks, so just to clear things a bit, you got these and used your old Eibach springs on these struts? and they are complete bolt-on?

Also, if i were to get these and some eibach springs, would i need to get some camber kits and stuff to dial in my suspension back to specs? (i have 4was and dont want to drive out of specs to avoid any damage to the unit)

Thanks again for you answers!

Yes, I have these paired up with the Eibach pro-kit and it's a direct bolt on.... down to the sensor brackets on the front struts. You would most likely need a camber kit for both the front and the rear to get within factory specs. My fronts are at -1.6 and the factory limit is -1.3. Both the rears were at -2.0 without the camber arms and the factory limit is -1.8. They were able to get the toe within specs without the toe bolts. My front tires are wearing just fine... way slower than the rears so I think you could get away with just the rear kit. If you're really concerned about the camber then it might be about the same price to just get coils since the front camber kit is so expensive for what it does. Then you could drop right to the limits of the factory specs.... decisions, decisions.
