08 G35x sport Eibach pro kit

What are your guys impressions before and after regarding ride quality? Any increased creaks or rattles in the cabin from stiffer ride?

I'm guessing handling is greatly improved though

Big improvement in handling but the stock shocks have a hard time controlling the suspension over bumpy roads (which we have lots of here in New England). On smoother roads I don't notice much of a difference in ride quality. I haven't noticed an increase in rattles or anything.

a bit

Thanks for the reply!
Definitely do not want to turn this car into a lumber wagon BUT the stock height is a bit high and I'm willing to sacrafice a bit for handling.

Are you on aftermarket wheels and tires and if so did you notice any change in ride quality there?

I'm on stock wheels for now.

Camber kit just crossed my mind. Was installation of a front or rear kit necessary?

I didn't install a kit, and the camber is visibly negative with the springs but after more than 20k lowered miles on my last set of tires there was no abnormal wear at all.

So what options are there currently for the G35X shocks? I have searched and viewed some many threads on this board and TBO I'm not sure what the current options are.

I know there are crappy OEM equiv KYB GR-2s but I've heard from tirerack sales guy that KYB's says no-go using these with an after market sport spring setup. And I've read there is a koni rebuild option but I don't know anything about them (where, cost etc). And of course there must be an expensive Nissan OEM replacement option. Is that it for shock options? If so, I'm surprised I have not read much about the custom koni builds. That sounds like the best option but not seeing any content about them on this board.

I ask because I'd like to lower my G35X with something like the pro kit rather than CO's because of what some occasional winter driving conditions will do to the CO's.

I think you've got it covered. Koni rebuilds, stock, or coil-overs. It sucks, shocks would really complete my setup but I'm stuck with under-damped stock crap. I sort of wish I went with coil-overs but they're just so damned expensive.

did you look in to the cost of koni rebuilds? I wonder if those with springs is well under $1K.

Also, do you know if any of the CO's are winter proof for a reasonable cost? I'd go that route if the cost was around $1K and the overall product was OK for some winter exposure.

I looked at their site but I couldn't find any info, I think we'd have to call them for pricing. I'm also afraid of how well coil-overs would stand up to winter in New England.

I phoned True Choice/Koni and the estimate is $600 per corner. So around $2500 for rebuilds plus supply your own OEM's as well. It would be more economical to go with $1000 CO's and replace or rebuild them multiple times if it came to that. Or do what a few people have done and user lowering springs and OEM shocks (until they fail and then replace with GR-2's).
