Spring+Struts or Coilovers?

I can't make up my mind, so hopefully someone can help make this decision a little easier. I currently have some eibach lowering springs on 07g35s and I'm thinking about getting some new struts for it. It will either be Tokico D spec or Koni struts. Recent review by mishmosh on Koni with eibach springs is very tempting but for the price, I can just get some entry coilovers. Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC Coilovers, Tein basic, BC racing and megan coilovers are all within my price range. So I really don't know which way to go. It will be nice to adjust the height as I think the eibach sits a bit too low but nothing I can't live with. What do you guys think? I don't want to spend more than $1000. I'm looking more for comfort than anything else. Will never track it and only sprinted driving every now and then. What route will be the better route? Thank you

Somewhat of a tough call. Koni makes great quality shocks and if you aren't really planning on adjusting the height much that might suit your needs just fine. Having the adjustability though is a huge benefit of coilovers. I think I'd still go coilovers because of how much more adjustment there is overall. Tein Basic/Basis are still comfy and will give you some pretty good height adjustment.

I personally haven't dealt with Tanabe before, but I have owned Teins. I liked my Teins when I had them.

I just put Megan Street Coils on to replace my lowering springs and really am enjoying the ride, 32 settings and nice to be about 3/4" higher in the front. Much easier on the as$ too, not nearly as harsh. The rear will go from low to completely slammed and the front will go from 4x4 to slammed. I have the rear almost as high as they'll go and I'm still dropped 26.2" at the rear fender lip, I have the front set the same 26.2". I think the front could go as high as 28.5" and about 24.5" the lowest. The rear only has about 1/4" more height adjustment so about 26.5" would be the highest and can slam about 3" down from all the thread that is left
Site Vendor FBparts is a great place for these if you're interested.
If you want some pics I can PM you some.

thanks blnewt, pictures will be great if you have them. Is it a much smoother ride with the megan coilovers compared to just springs? I'm really leaning toward tanabe sus tec pro right now since it's gotten some pretty good reviews.

Right now I have them set at "10" out of 32, 0 is the softest, 32 firmest, really seems to be the perfect setting for typical street use, very comfortable ride compared to my springs but still very much in control. Night&Day difference IMO. I read many reviews of coilovers in the lower price points and I think in the under $1k range they're pretty comparable to each other.
I'm really happy w/ the Megans, the fit & finish is very good and they most definitely improve the overall handling and feel of the car immensely. Adding F&R sways is the last thing on my list & something that everyone should consider. Keep in mind you can't adjust the dampers on the Tanabes if they're too firm for your liking.
At any rate, whatever you decide coilovers is the way to go for sure
I'm out of town right now but I can send you some pics next week, don't have any saved on this PC

This thread seemed appropriate for my question. Im being told in a coilover setup ( mind you I have limited funds) of either bc or D2 will give me quite a good drop on an 08g35x. The D2 claim almost 4 in drop. While bc is 2.5. I want low as in oh **** a pothole low. Whats the reccomendation from you guys D2 or BC ? Thank you. Oh and im running 20's that are 8.5 wide and no stagger.
