Michelin Pilot Supersports - how long should they last?

I bought a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports back in May 2011, I run those only in the summer months as I run a set of Blizzaks when the weather outside is frightful (sorry, been listening to a lot of Christmas music lately). So, I probably only have like 18,000 - 20,000 miles on them. I noticed that on my FRONT tires that the inner part of the tire has worn unevenly down to the belting...the outer part of the tire looks almost new.

A couple of questions:

1. What is causing this?
2. Is it fixable? If so, what needs to be addressed, I'm assuming something to do with alignment/camber adjustment.
3. Do you think that this would be covered under any sort of warranty? (I'm thinking tire warranty, not Infiniti warranty)

The tire has a UTQG: 300 AA A, to me that translates into a longer lasting tire (relative to the stock Potenzas that have a UTQG: 140 A A)...these have not lasted me longer than stock. Needless to say, I'm pretty unhappy right now.

Camber setting on alignment. Can be fixed and is not covered under warranty.

Is this something that any shop can do? Or should I go to the stealership to get it done correctly for our cars?

That sounds more like toe wear than camber wear to me based on the description, and that will not likely be covered under any warranty Michelin offers. Your alignment specs sound like they're off.

No. Common misconception on this board (and many other V35/Z33 sources)

No. Not adjustable. You need to replace the transverse link bushings and the compression rod bushings.

This man knows.

Edit... just noticed you are V36. Not familiar with 36 underpinnings. Should take my recommendations lightly.

I recommend whiteline transverse link bushings, OEM replacement compression rod bushings or energy suspension replacements. They make make a little noise on bumps but won't give you alignment issues.

Any reputable shop should get your alignment in spec after completing the above.

Is your suspension stock? If so, an alignment is in order. If you are dropped, you should consider front camber arms and then get an alignment.

My suspension it totally stock. I had the sway bar links replaced under warranty last summer, but that's the only 'work' I've had done to the suspension.

Here's a question - this camber/toe wear problem seems to be pretty specific to the G's, with that said, would it be prudent to go to an Infiniti stealership that has probably dealt with this issue multiple times or do you think a reliable, independent shop would be able diagnose/address this problem accurately?

Any competent/experienced alignment shop should be able to do it. I've been going to a local spot that specializes in suspension only and have been happy with the results. He even has rack for lowered cars that is level with the ground.
