rear "real coilovers" for AWD sedan?

Guys,

I have been told that rear coilovers for AWD sedan can be "real coilovers", shock in a spring. Sounds like I can order both variants: shock in a spring or OEM style.

Is it truth?

P.S. Local dealer doesn't know it so I need help here. Thanks

Yes it's true but the term you're looking for is "true" coilovers.

Our cars are designed with spring buckets. Having coilovers with keeping the spring in the spring bucket is probably better.

it might be done for more comfort... not for driving characteristics...
If I'm right I want to try true coilovers... If I'll not like a result I'll change them

I don't think you are right

Separation of the springs from the shock absorbers resulted in 60 percent less friction in the residual moment, which means the suspension could react faster to road inputs.

I think the main benefit of a true coilover is you can swap out springs at the track...
