In search of new brake kit

Including rotors/calipers/lines F/R. Components are rusted and appear to be all original pushing 135k miles.

Not looking for a big brake kit because I'm on stock 17" and want to stay on 17s even when eventually going aftermarket. I came across this setup and was considering Z1 stainless brake lines with Motul 5.1 to complete the package. Car is 100% street. Thoughts or recommendations?

R1Concepts for your brake pads and rotors, just get the "OEM plus" pads, they pad is very similar to the OEM Nissan pads. You can either go blank rotors or get drilled/slotted, won't make one bit of difference for your application and personally I like drilled/slotted just for the cosmetic appeal.

As for calipers, personally I wouldn't do anything other than grease the slide pins, as long as those pins are greased those calipers are good for the life of the vehicle for street use only. If you're absolutely intent on refreshing them just get the OEM rebuild kits from Nissan or online from someone like Z1 Motorsports who carries all that stuff in stock.

You're definitely overthinking the brake fluid though, stick with the recommend DOT 3 or 4, high performance brake fluid has a SIGNIFICANTLY shorter lifespan. What kills brake fluid (other than boiling it while racing) is it absorbs moisture out of the air through the reservoir, this moisture disperses itself along the entire length of the fluid lines pretty rapidly and starts to corrode the internal components on the brake system. Normal brake fluid is only technically "good" for like 5 years depending on the environment, in super humid places it might technically be out of spec (greater than around 5% water) within 3 years. High performance fluid sucks up moisture much quicker.

I recommend using the Valvoline DOT 3 & 4 fluid (it's both 3 and 4), it pretty cheap, works great for street applications. You could use the Valvoline DOT 4 but it would have a slightly shorter lifespan.

If you had upgraded brakes and drove very hard, or did occasional track days then I'd definitely recommend a DOT 4. If you tracked the car regularly DEFINITELY the Motul 5.1 and some very aggressive pads, lot cheaper to spend money on that stuff compared to putting your car into a barrier.

^ R1 Geomet slotted rotors and their OE pads ordered, shipped for $400 which I find very reasonable for what seems to be high quality stuff. Sticking with my calipers as a new set costs as much as rotors/pads. Many thanks.

Ordered a set of Z1 SS brake lines also....
