Haha.. at idle and when I step on the gas the RPM feels a bit sluggish. I would really love to do this but as of right now, I can't afford to have any issues with the idle if things went array.

After all, last weekend I just changed the belt, camshaft sensor Bank 2, spark plugs, rebuild the valve cover with new grommets, fuel damper, clutch interlock switch.

Had white smoke from the new plugs (oil in tube) with rough idling, perform all three resets perfectly to get my idling perfect at 600-625.

I'm seriously thinking about doing this though lol

Or maybe not

04 G35 with 87k miles, I'm sure she is filthy

OK, so I tried this TB clean and am having some idle issue too. I also installed a Z-tube and cleaned my MAF and air filter, so it’s conceivable to me the computer is having some issues adjusting with its new found air flow.

It’s drivable, but a little erratic. I have the SES light, idle is a little high (~1k) and deceleration is a little sluggish (1 sec delay). I tried disconnecting the battery (negative terminal) for 30min, but same results.

Question is: Do I jump into trying the Idle Relearn or give it a few more days (including WOT runs) to see if it adjusts itself?

Do the idle relearn and throttle body ASAP.

So my car idles like previous posts (at idle, with car warmed up, it has a rev cycle from 1k to 2k)
tried:
1. relearn process (i believe i did it right since the ses light started to blink)
2. disconnected battery
3. drive it for a few days
4. check for loose connections

i am pretty much running out of ways to fix it.
I did everything the diy stated, but i came out with a different result. Any ideas?

^ unfortunately you will just have to keep redoing the relearn procedure until u get it exactly right, even a second missed here or there and you have to redo it, as i have said many times throughout this thread doing the relearn procedure exactly as needed is not that easy the first few times. just try a few more times.

Yeah, just be wary of when you do get the relearn right, that it might not remember it

There are a few of use that cannot get the learned idle to save, it's fine until you turn the engine off and on again

if you read through the previous 15-25 pages you will see that many people thought they had done it right but were having problems upon retrying it again and again while making sure they time everything perfectly they sorted out the problem.

You dont need to panic as this is a common issue and everyone get s it fixed sooner or later, you just have to re-read the relearn procedure thats listed several times in this thread and redo it until you get it right.

If you still cant then just post in your regional forum or here and hopefully someone in your area who knows the procedure pretty well can meet up with you and help you do this, some people have done this in the past with success

ppl are having problems i might just take it in and get it done now. All you do is take it apart w/out discounting the harness and put everything back together once you finish cleaning. Why is everyone having problems?

My idle is jumping from 900 to 500 all the time, and i was hoping to do this this week or the next
