Removing Mt Fuji?

Hi guys,

I did a few searches and was surprised that I couldn't find a thread about removing Mt Fuji from the trunk. After peeling the liner back, the removal of the deck lid is pretty obvious, but there are no screws poking out behind the Fuji and I'm 99.9% certain its not held in place with glue like the lettering (which I removed a long time ago)

Any input??

Thanks

Use the SEARCH....^....function using the words "Debadge!" The Mt. Fuji emblem isn't any different than all the other letters on your trunklid. (coupe) After it's removed along with the glue you may need to hit the area with a highspeed buffer and compound to hide/remove the shadow, I did!

ahhh "debadge".... technicalities got me again! I'm surprised its just glued on there for the trunk. Anyway, I guess I have to revise my plan then cause I had intended on keeping the Fuji but hitting it with some VHT for a black chromeish look as I did the Fuji up front.

I guess it has to stay chrome for today

Thanks for the info

Oh, is that what you wanted to do? Remove the emblem like it shows on the Debadge thread, clean the area with Googone/WD40 followed by a very small amount of cleaner. Paint the emblem and reinstall using 3M double sided adhesive available at most auto parts stores.. Takes a little longer but you'll achieve your goals....Gary
