I have the same problem even when I go to places like AutoZone... the computer and the damn printed book say that the filters are part xyz... when I go look, that part is HUGE.
I even went to the parking lot and showed the guy... opened the clips and took the filter out. He's like "oh damn... so our info is wrong"
Duh...

WOW this thread came back alive!!? HAHA. Well I have Injen's on my car now, And I had to take out all the stock stuff Including those ugly Silencers! If I do put the Stock back in, Since it seems it makes more power on our cars than any Aftermarket Intake! But If I did I would leave those Damn Silencers out and just put in K&N Filters in the Stock Boxes. If it's like Honda's. the Stock Boxes will have some Sound, But not like the Aftermarket ones. But it'll be better than nothing. and you'll have the stock Ram Air System to boot! Someday I may switch, of if Blueslate was try try it if he takes out his Injens?

i did this a year and a half ago and it does give it more of an intake growl. i am unsure if any power was seen. but there is a little elbow on each airbox that goes to the silencers, i just taped it up with electrical tape real good and it worked fine at sealing that opening off. you do that to allow your "ram air over 60mph" effect keep working.
and i did quite a bit of research on drop ins during the period i was thinking about the TS reflash and going back to stock intakes.....
summary is, unless you clean your drop in's once a week, their flow benefits are no longer better than a paper filter after that week of dirt begins to fill the oiled material. SO paper filters every other oil change would be best for low mainenance high flow life.
