Those with intakes
Just wondering if when you installed your intakes, the car's shifting patterns changed.
I put on my custom intakes yesterday and the actual shift time is longer when accelerating normally(the little pause it does before it kicks it down), and the car wants to rev alittle higher in the rpm before it begins to shift.
I was hoping that this will be an ecu learning thing that will pass. I did the idle air relearn and it cleaned it up tremendously at idle. smooth as stock. I can't wait to make some heatsheilds for this thing! and it was only around 130 bucks

dam those custom intakes look sweet. I cant verify however longer shifts between gears. But if you are experiencing that i dont think its such a bad thing is it? Probably minute in difference between stock i would imagine.
Post pics of the heat shields once you put them on. I was going to go that similar route and make my own heat shields but i ended up ordering the stillens.

if i remember correctly it was 120 or 130.
did you have the running into the revlimiter issues in 1st and 2nd gears after install when in Drive? (due to the longer shifting)
lol and they are actually PVC type of material(thinner than the sewer counterpart). and have a chrome coating on them. can't tell the difference from looking tho and they might actually resist heat better than metal.

I've actually seen those at Pep boys, it's like abunch of intake pieces of different angles and diameters which interconnect.Never had the ***** to try it.
How are you bracing the intake for vibrations or will your heat shield addition do that?

well that a good job done on your car..looks good!!!! i didnt feel feel nothing different in gears at all. because i disconnected the negative on the battery when i put my intake... like that the ECU resetted..so it can adjust to the extra air coming in; i dont know if that made a difference

! Details man, details....
