I do want the loudest CLEAN exhaust sound I can get. To tell you the truth, I just want it to sound as loud as an 03 coupe.

If that's ricer to you, pass the soy sauce buddy

I'll look into the HKS, but, and I emphasize this strongly: I dont want something cheap, I just want something loud I'll gladly pay $1.5k+ for an exhaust if it's worth it.
here you go do what my buddy did with his g get a TT designed system (larger pipe diameter) and put it on a NA car for a loud kick *** sound if your willing to spend the money it sounds awesome

I'm sorry I'm completely ignorant but, what is an HFC?

zack69: your exhaust sounds sick but you have a previous gen coupe.. I dont know if your exhaust will fit my car.

skyblue: I dont know if there are any TT exhaust kits out there, considering there is no TT for the 2007 sedan...correct me if i'm wrong but the older versions wont work?

a HFC is a high flow catalytic converter.

yeah i just figured it out, you beat me to it!

these look great: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-engine-exhaust-drivetrain-fi/209499-just-got-my-berk-hfc-s.html

EDIT: so it'd be ~$1000 for the exhaust, and another $500 for the HFC, is that a decent estimate? How about installation? Another $300?

I can personally vouch for the way the FI exhaust sounds both with and without the HFCs. If you want to turn heads most the time, install the HFCs... if you want to be noticed when you step on (really nice note around 2300-3000 rpms) just stick with the Cat-back exhaust. Personally, the HFCs got to be a bit to loud for my taste... However, it sounds like that is what you are after.

On a side Note... The second Gen G's seem very sensitive to relieving toooo much back pressure i.e. HFCs (first hand experience with some hesitation and stuttering with the HFCs installed). I was told that a ECU reflash should resolve this issue; however, no one has released on yet. Just some food for thought... Sorry about the side-track.

Good luck!

here's another option if you're looking for a little extra power and sound:

Coming from an SRT8 Engine.. and driving this 'tiny v6' on the weekends.

I think we have the nicest sounding non-v8 on the market.

we really don't, and it's both comforting and frustrating that one of the only V6s that sound better is the OLDER version of the same bloody engine.

I really think Infiniti had hit on a gold mine in their old g35 coupe exhaust note, and I just can't understand why they decided to change it. Dont get me wrong I love the sound of our engine under WOT, the throaty roar gives me a yipee but I wish it was just as impressive idling around.

EDIT: ding ding ding! prizes for lazy people that make off-hand comments in threads without actually reading what the thread is about, wasting my time in formulating a response.
The "tiny v6" you're talking about is the same sound I'd like to emulate.. you have the older car mate, the 07s sound different. Pay attention.

straight pipes from header back. No cat, no mufflers, no resonators.

Sounds MEAN when you get on the gas.

I saw an 04 Black G35 Coupe 6MT yesterday at GTM. Had a complete turbo build and custom exhaust. With the cams they put in that thing coupled with the custom exhaust that thing rumbled like an old school V8 big block. So sick!!!!!!!!
