Not to steal his thunder, but my Dad and I were at Technosquare yesterday doing the reflash on his 08 Sedan Sport 5AT. He's Technosquare's R&D car for the 08 5AT model. The reults were impressive...with stock air box, K&N drop in's, and fast intentions exhaust he put down 283whp and 232wtq. For $hits and giggles we also did a run with the Stillen Intakes, and just like the Fujita intakes it lost roughly 10 whp. Stillen intakes are crap!!! I did drive the car yesterday as well, and I must say it def pulls a lot harder now...lots of fun!!!

My dad is JGKG35 on here and he is gonna post up a seperate thread with all the details about the flash, pics, and dyno graphs in the near future...so keep a look out. Just thought I would give you guys an update. Oh yeah and anybody who has aftermarket intakes...I suggest you ditch them...they all pretty much suck.

it's cool your dad did the re-flash, but i think it's pretty tough to judge "all intakes" when you've only tried fujita and stillen intakes...that's not "all intakes" by any means...didn't they teach you in school to watch how you use words like "never, always, and all"

The Stillen intakes don't actually suck. The reflash + intakes is why it sucked for you. I myself think intakes are a horrible price/performance mod, but I wouldn't throw stones at anyone for getting them.

Yeah big Bummer for reflash + Stillen intakes.
I personally like the Stillen Intakes, i love the Suction Sound, i had Dynoed my car with them and saw power gains not as specified but an Avg. of 5-6whp, But hearing this since I have an Appointment with Technosquare next Wednesday I just might switch back to stock intakes and just sell the Stillens?

Ppl have been doing the reflash with Fujita and Stillen and Seen Losses i think im willing to do it with Injen!

for testing purposes some local CA guys should swap back to stock and let the other car test them out on their dyno. it would solve so much uncertainty in our crowd.

I'm not some kid...but from what Tadashi told me (the tuner) no intake is very good for this car. The best design in his opinion and from his experience is the stock air box for these particular model G35's (07-08). I will gladly take the advice of somebody who at least has some idea about these things (i.e. a tuner). Furthermore according to Tadashi in his words "I would not run any aftermarket intake on these particular cars." But what the hell does he know... right...

Furthermore please do not try to "teach" me a lesson, umkay big guy. But if you want to go and blow money on intakes and loose power...by all means do it. We are just trying to help, and maybe save some forum members some money. Not my fault you want to be stubborn. Good luck in your endless quest to discover which intakes actually make power. In the end I am confident you will come to the same conclusions.

EDIT: I see you have Injen CAI's...I realize you do not want see that they may loose power...afterall I am sure you spent a pretty penny on them. But since you have them...you should be the Injen tester.

I'm not throwing stones at people for getting them...but for $400 bucks or so it's a pretty misleading mod. I don't want to see other people waste money on something that hurts the performance of the car. I really think until some companies do some real R&D work on intakes...the best way to go is K&N drop-in's.

BTW anybody want to buy some Stillen Intakes? We happen to have some laying around...hahahahaha!! j/K

Yeah pretty impressive for just K&N drop ins, fast intentions exhaust, and a re-flash.

BTW Tadashi had nothing good to say about the Injen's either...

So Even the Injens would give you a loss in power after getting a reflash!?!!??
