Tough to say. How do you know what power came from the Injen plus reflash vs. just reflash? You'd have to dyno three times I guess.

But, the same car can dyno differently even on the same day. When looking for a few HP difference, it'll be tough to tell.

Very much watching these two technosquare threads... and on my X ,, all i want is to get rid of the top speed limiter,, not even interested in anything else..... btw. i am glad i did not buy ANY diff. intake system for this car. back when these cars came out, i tried to read as much technical stuff as poss. and everyone seemed to like what Infiniti did with this 80% new engine in 07 and the twin intake system with factory ram air.... sometimes the manufactuer gets it right!! regards...

BTW anybody want to buy some Stillen Intakes? We happen to have some laying around...hahahahaha!! j/K
No worries. I wasn't trying to throw you under the bus.

The K&N dropins are also a big waste of money. They provide no noticeable increase in power and let a ton more silicon into the engine. This has been proven time and again through oil analysis.

What's the factory limiter set at? 155mph? Or does the X have a lower limit?

What would be the point in removing it exactly? Yikes.

While I hit 135 once in my trans am (with the t-tops out), I have no desire to do that in the G35.

I think it's 136 for auto and 155 for manual.

i have a Sport 5AT, and i was dangerously close to 136 mph today, and it was still pulling.....hard and fast.......with 5 people in the car. definintely didn't feel like it was just going to stop at 136mph had i kept going. very dangerous machine. nobody in the car even knew i was anywhere near 130mph, my baby is a smooth criminal like MJ.

I've had my auto over 140..... think it was in the 142 range and it was still climbing. I think the auto is 145 and the man. is 155.

+1 Aeson. Been on the dark side of 150 (speedo indicated, and we all know how accurate they are) in my 07 X. I am 100% sure that the indicated 152 I hit was much faster than an actual 136 mph, if anyone is going to think the speedo would be 16 mph off. I have been up to 165 GPS validated in M3, so based on comparison, I would say I was in the 145 area when 152 showed on the cluster.

Onto the removal of the limiter----I know the car had more in it when i let up, but there was no need. I was in the mountains, many elevation changes, and I will tell you, if you have the limiter taken out, there MAY be 1 or 2 times that you will go into the new territory, and hopefully never on public roads. If you are rarely/never on a LONG *** track, dont let the removal of this influence your decision. The 150 area is more than enough for any sane person. That being said, if i had this reflash done when in the mountains, i am sure i wouldnt have let up to see what the car really would hit, when limited only by drag and power. BUT...........without a SatNav GPS Transponder to get guaranteed speed readings, it would have been terribly useless.
I digress...

this should debunk the 136 X or Auto Tranny limiter theory. FYI, my X is bone stock, well except for debadging, which should add 30 or so hp.

Never heard that...may be a waste of money but no where near the price of an aftermarket intake. Also since the Stillen Intakes uses K&N filters, I am guessing the same can be said about those when considering the intake of silicon...and for that matter the same can be said for a lot of intake manufactures who just use re-branded K&N filters...Correct me if I am wrong.

Limiters are usually directly related to the tires that come with the car. No Z rated tires = lower speed limiter.

So, if you bought a car up north with snow tires or something, you'll likely have a lower limiter.

If you're stuck at 137, do you really want to pay $500 to go faster than that though?

(ironic we can discuss going 155mph and not discuss a 60mph street race).

My 07 X only goes 130 mph.... :-( I just want it to go as fast as some other X's and use more of the V speed rating of the tires......
