obd2 port to be precise.

hey, as long as cobb does the same with this as they did for my 05--maintain the unique ID number on the ecu for smogging purposes, then it's all good.

Yeah I found the obd2 port, although the location is a bit retarded (had better accessto the port in my Audi), what do you mean by smogging purposes?

since 05, all ecu's have been required to hold a unique id number that smog joints can pull up to identify that the ecu belongs with the car. it's a bit like a fingerprint.

in the past, ecu flashes simply overwrote the current info. this wasn't a big deal. cobb's AP snapshots your factory programming, it seems, and retains the ID number that would have been overwritten by simpler/older flash methods. i get the feeling this is not a cobb-specific procedure.

Ah ok, makes a little bit more sense, and by flashing you guys mean re-mapping? chipping?

just came across that on g35parts.com. cobb tuning accessport for the 07+ 350z. isn't this what we have all been waiting for? or will this really only work on the 07 350z even though we have the same engine?...

Sounds good, heard they were working on it, even better to hear that it's actually progressing....Just one question, would this be ok to use on a '08 Sedan? as The 07 and 08 aren't that much different? Or are we going to have to wait another year for a 08 equivalent?

i would assume it depends on the ecu trim(number/letters on the ecu cover)
