hey terry i meant to ask out of curiousity, is there a simpler option for the management. something that strictly controls air/fuel(and maybe timing) like a simple/cheaper piggy back? I have a few people local asking me about it, but want the cost down. this is all i could think of to bring it down.

and did you ask them about my question?

Could an Apexi SAFC be used? We used those on DSM with 720cc injectors (stock 450cc).

^--that is the main reason i asked. i have used it successfully before on other aftermarket boosted vehicles in conjunction with a fuel regulator that rises with boost pressure.

one guy i know was able to get the s-afc to control fuel based on boost by using a GM boost sensor-running the boost reading as the MAF on the safc. and then just tuning in extra fuel according to the maf numbers(based off the boost).

apparently worked really well and completely smoothed out part throttle and varying load situations.

I spoke with Sam ealier today about the status of my car (finally got confirmation for pick-up TOMORROW! ) and asked your questions at the same time. In short, yes, less expensive piggy back are capable of working. I think most of the cost in turbocharging the G is the hardware kit itself and proper tuning. For me, the path to possible future upgrades include going to a V-Pro which is less expensive if the iS is already in place.

And as far as GTM knows ... there is nothing on the drawing boards from Vortech yet because of the complexities of the twin throttle bodies.

It's on the dyno right now, so I probably won't see the final tune until tomorrow when I pick it up.

Not to be an alarmist or anything, but did the earthquake earlier today cause any issues w/ GTM? I know they're located in Rancho which is fairly close to the epicenter.
