looks really nice but why not just add a bit of medium mesh in front for a cleaner look without messing with the air flow then NO one can tell! else maybe change the blue coupler to black on the passenger side of the intercooler

COUPLERS: I actually wanted to go with black couplers, but they got the car put back together before I had a chance to tell them.

MESH: I would have preferred to leave the stock mesh on there as well during the initial installation. They wanted to mount the intercooler as far away from the radiator as possible so even the stock mesh was removed for clearance. On both ends, the intercooler is probably less than 1/16" from touching the bumper cover:

I was told the thermal coating used isn't just black anodize or paint and is supposed to increase intercooler efficiency. Eh .. who knows, it seemed plenty efficient to me already?

Unless it is a track video, it would be very boring because the car is so quiet sounding. BOVs are not noticeable on an AT because the engine RPM doesn't drop on the a shift like an MT does ... manifold pressure stays positive.

I have agree about the coupler, it's definitely an eye catcher; first thing I noticed when I saw the pic. I don't know how uptight LEOs are in your area Terry, but if you're concerned you could also do a simple wrap with some black duct tape until the proper coupling is available. I know it sounds totally tacky, but if done carefully it's fine for a temporary fix. Once it's black it pretty much disappears.

As far as mesh goes, if you ever decided to, you need to be careful about how much 'free area' the mesh has. It's really amazing how much airflow block a seeming 'open' mesh has.

I haven't read up on your build, but just out of curiosity, how much boost are you typically running?

Who painted it? I've been meaning to do the same but I didn't know there was a special coating used.

I normally run with the boost controller a WG spring pressure for 6-7 PSI.

It was tuned at 9 PSI for 467 WHp (see post 370 for graph), but it has seen 12 PSI when it had boost creep early on. Not sure what the WHp was at that level, but most likely over 500?:

GTM outsourced the coating. I don't know who they used. Do a search for THERMAL DISPERSANT for more details.

I guess I can link this to Mike's driving impressions here:

Took the car from L.A. to Las Vegas over the summer. Peak oil temp hit 270 deg F during the drive with ambient temps hovering around 106 deg F. Made the round trip without hitting limp mode.

Oil cooler to be ordered soon!
Glad to see the car still running strong.

Yeah I would definitely get an oil cooler that peak oil temp is high if you were just cruising.

I need to take a trip to GTM as I need to install a better AF sensor as the Bosche took a dump on me. May need to purchase an HKS AFK sensor but $900 is a little steep.

I have 80k miles on my GTM build.
