the only thing a larger housing will do for you in terms of boost creep prevention is give you a larger internal WG port.

if there is less resistance going through the impeller as there is exiting via the WG port, you get creep. that's why people are saying you should just have the housings ported and have a bigger flapper fitted.

for that kind of money i would have expected external gates, but that's neither here nor there. Adding them now would be kind of a pain in the ***.

terry: are you on test pipes now?

Yes, the internal wastegates are restrictive at high RPM. I believe they want the larger port in the bigger housing. External gates would be a fix for sure, but they want to try this change first to keep the cost of the kit down. Plus, there may be a space issue down below with the larger bell housing on an automatic transmission.

Yes, there are TP on the car now.

Not yet, but very soon. Boost creep and smoke all fixed but now I have problem with mod "creep". I'm having a Blitz boost controller put in while it's there. I don't think I need 470 WHp every day.

i don't know much about turbos, but can you use the controller to lower the boost all the way down? i mean to the point where the turbos wouldn't force any air in?

No. Most boost controllers let you lower the boost to a base level and that is the lowest it goes. You cannot get to 0 psi of boost.

Of course, if you want to drive w/o boost, just don't floor it and you can easily stay at or below 0 psi.

The Blitz EBC has 4 set points that starts to operate at what the wastegate actuators are set up for. The actuators on my car are set for 5 PSI which is the LOWEST boost. The other 3 settings on the EBC will be set progressively higher... up to probably 9-10 psi which should be around 470 WHp from previous dyno testing. GTM's dyno should be back up by today so they can take actual measurements.

I was told to pick my car up tomorrow AM!
