30 minutes max to replace one of the sensors. They are a little difficult to get to, but very easy to replace... as long as you have the proper O2 socket wrench.

I'm actually talking about the A/F sensor not the O2 sensors behind the cats.

There are two sets of sensors, there are A/F sensors in the exhaust manifold and then 2 o2 sensors after the cats.

Infiniti told me they have never been able to get the A/F sensor off without taking the manifold off.

That is what they were instructed to do by Infiniti directly.

I'm going to get the antifoulers put on then go to the dealer to try and get my A/F sensor warranty repaired.

Not sure if the A/F sensor and the O2 sensor are the same thing but anyway thats what I was talking about, so the half hour to install both o2 sensors behind the cats wouldnt apply, im actually looking to see how much time it would take to replace the exhaust manifold o2 sensor.

Why would the headers need to come off?!? There was another thread on here where the dealer replaced the guy's front O2 sensors (the ones in the header) under warranty because it was throwing his check engine light and he sid he was in and out in under an hour. You can get to the front O2 (the A/F one, but it's still an O2 sensor) sensors failry easily from the engine bay once you take the intake off. You will just need the proper O2 socket and a pretty long set of extensions... preferably with the "wobble" feature or universal joint.

I know it's an old thread... But I just can't believe the dealership will install HFCs for you which is an illegal mod technically!! I have a very good relationship with my dealership here, but they won't even put on the HKS coilovers for me so is any aftermarket parts except the wheels/tires...

I had my FI carbon fiber catback + HFCs installed at a local performence shop. Just a heads up for all of you here planning on doing this mod, the O2 sensors, like the name suggested, are very SENSITIVE!! Take extra causions on those things. Though it's easy to replace, but it will cost you $180 to get one...

The dealer here will install HFCs for 150-180. Considering how labor intensive it is, that's a steal IMO.

Have Berks with FI SS catback. The sound is nice, but can get annoying very quick. Low speed drone is awful and at exactly 55mph it's nauseating (the whole car resonates). But high rpm and 65+ mph the sound is fantastic. I'm hoping it's just a break in issue. The system has been on for a week and 300 miles...

I thought your SS should be better than my CF coz the CF is louder than SS. Yeah it has drone between 2-3k rpm. But after break in, it gets much better. Maybe also because I learned how to drive with it. The drone has nothing to do with the HFC tho. It's coming from the canister.

They should definitely quiet down as they "break-in". With my exhaust and stock cats I had absolutely no drone, but as soon as I put my Berk HFC's on I had a terrible drone when cruising on the highway right around 2300 - 2500 rpms, especially under load (i.e. driving uphill or under slight acceleration). However, after putting 500 - 1000 miles on the car with the HFC's installed the drone got much better. Now I probably have around 5K miles on the HFC's and the drone is still there, but it's very slight and at least barable now. I still have a little rasp, so I'm actually considering adding a second set of resonators and hoping that might eliminate the last of the drone as well.

Interesting. Yea I hope it does it better. I still love the system in general. There is a definite power gain in the upper range and the engine seems more "free-flowing."

Today I drove into a parking garage and managed to set of car alarms just driving by.

Take it easy man. Lol. Yeah I LOVE the sound of Fast Intentions ss/cf catbacks. And the sound will get smooth after break-in although the drone will still be there. But it's bearable and worth it. My setup(FI HFC + FI CF catback) is quiet like stock(or very close to stock) once it's cruising on the highway between 65-80 mph. Because at that speed, you most likely are at 3k rpm and out of the 2k-2.5k drone zone.

If you are really looking for drone-free catback, HKS hi power is the way to go. But it's very loud.

I had Borla cat-back system on my car since I got it and I loved the sound! But some time ago I've installed Berk's HFC and the sound became CRAZY loud with the drone and rasp.

So I ordered a set of Moroso Spiral Flow resonators (the small ones, don't remember exact numbers) and installed them after the HFC and before Borla. And now I'm happy again! Drone, rasp and vibrations in the cabin almost gone and it sounds rather quiet now on low rpm (<2000)! Though they are not really designed for 300+hp as I had to repair both mufflers inside (make them strong) in the special shop (40$ charged ).

Good to know. That's eactly what happened to me when I installed the Berks. I have already installed the Invidia Gemini x-over pipe and resonators and that's helped out a bunch, but I think I'm going to go the same route as you and install a second set of resonators and hopefully that will get rid of the rest of the dreaded drone.
