I know it is possible. The fact that stillen intake dyno graph shows HR making its peak power at 7400 rpm is total BS therefore their claims are BS if they do not know how to lie people with at least a legit dyno graph.

FYI those restricted V10 trucks don't gain 20 whp from an intake.

The only way these aftermarket parts people get away with their ridiculous claims are by saying, "UP TO....."

But, I'd bet that even a heads/cam tuned G37 with full exhaust wouldn't gain 18 rwhp with this intake.

And on a stock car? No chance.

Don't believe me? Take your filters off your car completely and dyno your car. (least resistance possible).

You might see 2hp doing this.

Changing out the tubes? A few hp there as well. But 18 rwhp? Yeah right.
Ok, im not believing their calim as well, but what you say here is not consisitent, meaning if you take of the intakes then you are sucking HOT air into the throttle body, therefore no gaining much, however if you attach tubes to it and route them outside of the engine bay area w/o filters then you can see whats the MAX you can get out of cold air intake... make sense?

For $500 I laugh and I seriously doubt the 18 RWHP. Dyno results can be easily manipulated, show me something from an independant tester.

Sounds like Stillen has gone back to the advertising of the early 90's.

I have my fabricator trying to mock something similar to this and adding it to my fujita intake.

Colder air is good for a few hp, that is true.

The point is that there isn't that much power available from an intake. You could set up a "ram air" intake that's just a huge hood scoop with no air filter going straight into your intake...... and I'd still bet you won't gain 18rwhp....even at 100mph.

FWIW, I did do a "cold air" test on a dyno. (in my heads/cam 450hp Trans Am).

On a 90 degree day, outside dyno. Dyno 1: through the filter and regular intake box. (hot air coming from motor)

Dyno 2: No filter with a fan blowing cooler air into the intake.

There was only a few hp difference.
