hfc wont do anything to smog, but headers will.
and im sure they are illegal but everyone does it
im gettings headers, hfc, and an exhaust and i live in LA lmao
but u dont have anythin to worry about bro

The only reason why they might be illegal is cuz its loud
lambos are louder than our car even with a full cat back and hfc
so its all good

modifying your cats in any way in CA is illegal. it might still pass the smog test, but they will be able to tell that it is an aftermarket cat

*Sigh...

Not too sure about what's available for the 07+, but there are plenty of headers that are CARB legal, but so far, no aftermarket cat converters are CARB legal yet. But I'm thinking that they'll be around in a few years when more and more stock cats are going bad.

To the OP, get what you want, but SMOG legal does not meant the part is CA legal. To be CA legal, it needs an Executive Order number from the California Air Resources Board, or better known as CARB. If you find a CARB eo number (in the link I've provided) for a part for your specific make and model, matching down to the year, they cannot say anything about the part being illegal.

Cat-back exhausts do not need an eo number as it is after emission controls... they just can't be louder than 95db...

Not legal, unless you can prove your old system went out.

Catalytic converters rarely go out in less than 5 years....

It's a 5 year exemption, then smog every 2 years after.
