07 6MT clutch slipping

Hey guys,
Has any one had an issue of their clutch slipping?

Mine tends to slip on a 3-4 or 4-5 hard shift.

In 1-2 or 2-3 it will bark the tires a little bit. But in the higher gears the clutch will not lock up.

When this happens, the rpms are miss match by about 1000 rpms.
what I mean by that is the wheel end of the trany is spinning at about 4500 and the engine is at 5500, I dump the clutch kind of hard(not popping it) and hammer the gas as soon as the clutch peddle is up. What happens is the car starts to pull forward, but the tach slowly goes down till the clutch plate’s match and then they lock and off I go.
I know they are suppose to slip a little, but in this case they slip for about 2-3 seconds, (its a serious count) I have to let up on the gas for the clutch to fully engage then off it goes.

Has any one had this issue?

Im running the stock tires. I have 20k on the car.

Im thinking of calling the dealer, but im not sure how to say "it only happens when im shifting really hard but under normal driving its fine" to the service guy with out him thinking im beaten the **** out of the car.

Any input would be nice. Thanks guys

I have not experienced slippage in the higher gears like you describe. Mine slipped bad one time in first launching hard from a dead stop. The tires did not spin and the clutch took all the abuse/slippage for a few seconds. I'm still confused to this day why that happened. It sounds to me like your clutch is well on its way to needing a replacement.
As far as Infiniti is concerned, a clutch is not covered under warranty just like tires, brakes, etc. It's a part that will wear out eventually. It sucks that it only made it 20K miles on your car though.

That is your problem if you keep this up you are going to need another clutch in about 5K.

The only time the clutch in my car has slipped or I smelled burnt clutch is when I let my brother drive it and he sat too close and rode the clutch as he shifted. The clutch on this car is tricky you really have to finesse it and be perfect with your shifts or you will wear out parts prematurely.

sound like you need a new clutch. the same thing happened to mine except that it only started happening when i got it back from infiniti. they said the clutch was worn and my flywheel was warped, but it was fine when i took it in, But sorry to hear that.

i realize that,
but im talking about really hard shifting, like a drag race, ***** to the wall.
like i said under normal driving its fine.
it only happens when i red line each gear and shift hard

There has to something wrong with the clutch or something you're doing wrong cause i have done many gear shifts on redline if not a bit more and the car has never acted as you describe.

My guess is your dont give the car a bit of time to let the RPM's drop as when you are accelrating hard due to the ECU emissions standards it drops the RPM's slowly which is a pain at first but once you get it its a bliss... hope it helps.

Don't powershift.

Don't "slip the clutch"

Either dump it, or don't shift hard.

The clutch design is specifically made to protect the drivetrain. If you powershift, you will wear your clutch very quickly.

I've seen customers do it all the time; they come in complain of a slipping clutch on a new car. I go out with em and the do a 2-5 shift, and the engine stays at redline with clutch slipping. Again, this is to protect the drivetrain.

Dumping the clutch puts the strain on the tires.

Letting off quickly puts the strain on your clutch, tranny, and diff.

Which would you rather destroy?
