Talking Cobb Accessport custom mapping and dyno

Cobb recently opened a satelite facility in Plano, TX where I live. Tim w/Cobb will be in town next week and I have an appointement on 12/17 for a custom mapping on my car - 08 G35 sedan sport (injen cai and fast intentions catback). I can't wait...

After the programming is complete I will post the dyno.

for the next 4 to 5 weeks, I'll be going to Austin every Friday or so and coming back on Saturday. If we can plan it right, I'll be coming through Dallas around lunch time and can setup a meet around that.

I could be in for that - Plano isn't that far from Houston. Any idea what kind of tune they're doing for a stock VQ-HR?

I'm sort of taking a "I'll believe it when I see it approach". Hopefully they will make the deadline, but both Uprev and Cobb have already missed so many deadlines I stopped keeping track.

Yea, i'm getting really sick of this. not much I can do but WTF with not getting anything out for us. It surely can't be much, different on the tuning for our cars vs. the G37... same software writing and all, maybe just a few different values..... hasn't some peeps ran the G37 APs on their sedans? I may just have to make a special trip down to Plano and walk in personally to ask them some questions....

"A few different values" makes a world of difference when it comes to engine management. I wouldn't suggest anyone try the G37 maps on the G35. It sucks waiting, but that's the price we pay for buying the 4 door. While there seems to be a lot of interest on these forums, we make up a very small percentage of G35 owners. Can't really blame a business for focusing on where the money is at (G37 / 350Z / 370Z). Now having said that.....Hurry up already

Cobb vist

I made an appointment and brought my car into Cobb - Plano, TX just before the holidays. The weather had been really bad in Plano about a week before. Anyway, they put the car on the dyno and began doing test runs when a dyno sensor went nuts (believed to be from the thunder storms a week before) and they had to shut down testing.

Another appointment has been made and my car is going back into Cobb on 1/28 for another ecu re-map attempt.

I have the accessport now with out only the stock mapping. The device itself is really cool, and you can run all kinds of test and diagnostics, even check the freaking temperature of the coolant, oil, get live data on the engine instantaneously and check trouble codes.

I will let you know how it goes after the custom re-mapping next week. I have injen coi intakes and a fast intentions cat back exhaust and high flow cats from Fast Intentions from installs completed over Christmas. This will allow the ecu to receive a stage 2 mapping since I have the high flow cats. Apparently, the cats are the big factor in determining if your car is capable of a stage 1, 2, 2+ re map.

When finally completed the re map should make a noticeable difference in how the car responds, as it is running lean and cuts out on the low end right now with all of the air flow.
