People have been running the intakes in rain, snow, car washes.. the works. There has been no issues. There is a urethane piece in the front for general deflection, but you would need to submerge the filter and slam the throttle (same issue you'd have with the stock or other aftermarket intakes) to have issues.

You will notice if you get water into the engine, hydrolock is the term, but you'd have to dip the entire front end of the vehicle up to the grille section.. not likely unless you're attempting to cross small rivers in your sport sedan.

Stillen didn't fail here. I don't know about the water issue - I really can't imagine it being an issue but who knows. Besides that though - I personally think this is an incredible intake but our hopes were really high for this one - a lot higher then they should have been. At least mine were. Our stock intakes are really great and there is little room for improvement. Maybe theres a bunch of annoyances such as the PITA installation but Stillen certainly found as much of that room for improvement as they possibly could for now. We finally have an intake that is certainly showing gains along with great sound. Kudos to Stillen on this one - its just too bad it took them 3 generations of intakes to finally come close to what is expected. Definitely not perfect but certainly a step forward regarding intakes.

Great News!! I hope Stillen would think about Including a somekind of Template for us, So we can mark off, and trimm off what is needed. Since it sounds like alot of trial and error to cut just the right amount. Instead of putting the Intake pipe on....test fitting....then cut more if it does not fit yet. Just to make the job a little simpiler! I think for the price, and amount of work you gotta do, it should come with great clear step by step instructions with somekind of template!

It's only a pit because it has cutting involved.
If you already have injen intakes and upgrade to these, then it'll be a bit easier. You just have to take your bumper off, do some cutting, install any brackets it might need and put it back together. Thats what I'm guessing though.

There are no brackets included. The biggest problem is cutting and the tubing rubbing. Some places its composite and some places it triple pressed steel that you cut. It took at least 7 times to get fitment right eg. moving the horn a bit and padding all around the tubing after i was done.

Any chance R2C has a replacement filter that would work with this intake?

Not sure I want to deal with K&N's and R2C appears to make a better filter.

They make a replacement filter for Stillen intakes but don't think specifically this one - unless the size is the same as their previous generations.

Biggers, is Stillen going to post the install instructions for the g35 up on the site? I'd definitely like to get a look at them before purchase.

Also I noticed that both the G37coupe/sedan included a torque curve on their Dyno results. Do you by chance have a Dyno on the g35 that includes the torque gains?

Yes, we'll definitely put them up on the site, just as we did with others. I was just happy to get the dyno sheet going as promised, I'll see if we can get the torque added.

Things have been awesomely busy around here, with new products coming out all over the place, and R&D cranking on ones in the works, we've been at 110% investing into this market. New stuff for the 370Z, GT-R, and as you're seeing not ignoring existing models, such as the lightweight pulleys we just launched for the 3.5L / 3.7L, and this intake, etc.

I'm sorry for not getting everything together as timely as possible, normally we would wait and not discuss a coming product until we were close to release, but I wanted to keep you guys up to date and rushed things as much as possible, and with some information that wasn't from my desk I overpromised timelines.

I had the stillen long tube and was TERRIBLY disappointed!!! Customer service that I have experienced when calling is poor and they act very pompous! I personally have decided to never use Stillen after my experience. The dyno on the long tube that was released was not even CLOSE to the dyno's I got from 2 different locations! The gen 3 looks great, though the location worries me. But Stillen already lost me as a customer with the long tube and customer service.

I had the Stillen Long Tube, then the JWT and now K&N. JWT was great, but K&N looked better and better gains through the ENTIRE power band, not just top end.

I keep seeing 15 rwhp, what are the torque gains?
