Thanks for the reply, The heat shield i think is rattling is on the Y pipe so it's under the front and passenger seat. I'm looking into an aftermarket y pipe, but that has no shield on it either so i'm wondering if i'll still get the same problem as removing the heat shields. I'm not really looking for more power so I just don't want to spend 3-400 dollars and have the same cons, but a shiny pipe no one can see and like 2 whp more haha.

No problem, Clement.

Just try taking them off and see if it fixes your rattle... If so, then just leave them off... unless the cabin heat becomes unbarable, the have them reattached, but make sure they are more secure this time, so they won't rattle.

Just spend $20 and get yourself a set of jack stands and then use the factory jack to put the car up on stands.

Hmm I'll look into that hopefully it'll give enough clearance, it's safe right? Those nuts on these clamps are crazy tight, I can drag myself across the floor trying to loosen them and they don't budge, and i'm heavy!!

Those are the same jack stands I use, so they should be plenty high enough, assuming your factory jack will lift the car up that high. If you can't get them loose, then try heating them up with a torch first... that usually does the trick... or you can also try a nut splitter to get them off, but you will ruin the nut in the process. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I did it, I got a set of ramps and removed most of the heatshields, all the ones i removed were under the car and I kept the part that the Y pipe connects because that is right under underneath something that looks important hahaha.

IT WORKS NO MORE RATTLES!!

WooHoo... Awesome!!! Glad to hear it, Clement. Post up some new sound clips when you get a chance, so we can all compare.

Sorry, my bad took the car out and figured it's a lot better but there is still some resonance, I'm guessing it's either just they way the Air flows through the HFCs, or it's cause the Exhaust gases is slamming into the narrow 1.75 inch y pipe lol.

yes I guess, or it's just the HFCs making the noise, oh well I think my exhaust project is done for now, it's onto the exterior now, I'm waiting for that TK spoiler!!

And yes I think I've gotten used to the tanabes or something, I wish it was louder!!
