Stock exhaust drone
So my exhaust is droning sometimes during regular driving but freeway driving its way more noticeable. My friend actually asked me if i did anything to my exhaust....
Any idea why this started happening? Maybe something is loose somewhere?
thnx guys

You might have an exhaust leak. I never heard any drone stock either...but everyone has different sensitivity to sounds. Does everyone notice it? Could it also be tire noise from worn tires?
A while ago I started noticing that my exhaust was droning, and was especially concerned that it followed a flood in a parking lot (water reached the exhaust ends). It drove me nutz... I finally took it to the dealer, who shrugged it off and said it was a stock sound and offered me to test drive one of the other x sedans on the lot. I did = same sound. Progressively I stopped paying attention to it, accepting that the G is not a quiet car when it comes to exhaust note.

Could your cats be gutted a little bit from the flooding? I know that way back in high school my friend gutted the cats on his Camaro by getting them really hot (by driving hard) and then spraying water up into his exhaust. I'm thinking that if your exhaust got flpdded and had lots of water sitting in the cats, and you then drove the car and heated the cats, this could have effectively "gutted" them accidentally, producing a louder exhaust note. Does anyone else think this possible?
