Wash em, dry em and slap it back on.
Nissan's (Maxima's in general, especially the 5th gen's) had some pretty sensitive sensors. Even non-oiled one's were easy to screw up.

Same thing with my wife's toyota 4runner MAF sensor was just super sensitive, i feel lucky not having any trouble so far.

I've read somewhere that the HKS filters aren't know for the best filtration.

Their prior elements were rated as such, but i think these new panel filters use the new elements.

Although, just by the sheer composition of dry and wet elements, dry will tend to filter more reliably than a wet element. Wet filter elements depend on the oil to work properly. Take out the oil and the pores open up significantly. After washing K&N's, you can actually see the holes when held up to a light source.

True and sad that they don't make it specifically for our intakes. If you do own a CAI though you could always buy one of they're universal cone filter replacements, i did this before i just had to measure my CAI tube so i can find one that would possibly fit and walahhhh you have yourself an intake with a trueflow filter.

Anyone see/feel any performance gains with these?

Also, why does their product description say:

Using a 2-layer wet filter system this will give you a high flow intake system on your vehicle and help retain the factory air box.

But as I understand on this thread that its a dry filter...

?

Not many manufacturers list any filters for the '07+ G35 or even the '08 350Z (WTF) but if you look up the '07 350Z then the options increase. Check this one by Amsoil...

Disclaimer: This is all based on my own research and the assumption that the '07 350z has the VQ35HR with the dual intake so please check for yourself before buying as I haven't tested this theory yet. And let us know if you do confirm the fit...
^ great info if true!!!!
I used the EAA filter on my 04 & loved it.
I would definitely use again on my 08 if the Z filter fits.
