Improvements from 0-60 w/ BD

Ok guys....i have been skimming through 30 pages in this BD thread and have not seen 1 Dyno post. What the hell?? Does no one have the Dynolicious app or the DynoStorm (Blackberry)??

What I really want to know though is if our 0-60 times have improved.
I have the DynoStorm for my BB Storm and the best I have run is 0-60 in 5.67sec. My car is a completely stock (except for K&N filters) 2007 G35s sedan.

Anyone with one of these 2 apps or a real dyno test, please let us know if 0-60 times have improved with the BD flash.

There have been several dynos as of late. Take a look at the last few pages of the thread. Looks like you stopped a little premature.

  2. Premium tune, 1 degree: 256.1 HP, 230.5 tq
  3. Premium tune, 2 degrees: 257.9 HP, 230.8 tq
  4. No tune, zero degrees: 259 HP, 231.5 tq (stopped at 6,400 rpm - could be it would have gone higher at 6,700, the max for the other runs. Ignore the 267 HP, that was due to the speed limiter kicking the dyno)

Interesting facts:
  • A/F mix was in the high 12:1 range for the first two runs; dropped to low 12:1 for run 3; and ran richest stock, in the high 11:1 range
  • Stock there's a clear gain starting at 5,400 rpm through 6,400
  • On the last run the speed limiter hit at 140. I had it set for 178, which worked for the first three runs - but somehow it must be linked to the tune, because although the BD showed 178 on the BD, the limiter hit twice and we had to stop the run.

Austin713 pointed out that maybe this means the best solution is stock tune and two degrees, which I didn't test. Could be? Your FI exhaust sounds great BTW

Haven't decided whether or not to keep the BD; not excited about losing a few HP, but like the idea of better mileage and removing the speed limiter. So mine may or may not show up on eBay for some lucky Titan (or 1st gen) owner
Thanks for posting this. Just wondering did you have version 1.2.3c software loaded on your BD or was it another version?

Let us know. Thanks

I'll sell you my ScanGauge II

I bought the Bullydog so I no longer need the ScanGauge. I only used it for 30 days then I saw the Bullydog and decided to buy that instead. The scan gauge does a nice job for monitoring and stuff just no tuning options. I bought it from the manufacture since they are local to me only down side was no discount what so ever. Let me know if your interested and we can talk price....

Thanks

I'm interested.. I can't PM you or find any contact info in your profile. I noticed you've been on these boards for nearly 3 years but have few posts, felt hesitant, then remembered I've only been here for a couple weeks now myself and that's not very confidence inspiring in itself, as far as financial transactions go

Do you have the Scan Gauge 2? Just want to be sure before we start discussing it. Reach out and PM me or email me if the info is in my profile.

Looks like us Greeks have great taste. I've got the same exact model, color, and package as you my friend.

I'm also getting ready to bite the bullet on the power pub.

I'm running 1.2.2F
As far as I know, the versions are all the same, minus the ECU part number they support

0-60 times with the BD installed

Ok..so I finally ordered my BD and should be getting this Monday. I have the Blackberry Storm w/ the DynoStorm app and will be posting pre and post results once I get the BullyDog.

I'm really hoping that the 0-60 times will improve. My latest time with stock 07 G35s sedan was 5.67sec.

Anyone noticed any improvements in 0-60 after BD install???

Me too. When I talked to BD about the speed and rev limiters coming back with the stock tune, they advised me to upgrade to the latest. The BD is upgraded, but haven't tried it yet - they advise not doing it outside of business hours, and the last thing I need is a dead car over the weekend.

confuseddd

I went through reading the 51 pages of this thread and man am i confused. I just added a fujita intake in my car and feel response in the higher RPMs and was thinking to get an exhaust. Im really worried that will this affect the engine cause i usually drive my cars until it wears out completely. Im debating about the BD tune. And i dont feel there is any solid evidence if this tune actually works.

Ok so I've got a major problem. Got my BullyDog yesterday and went through the proper steps of updating it. I even called tech support to make sure I had the right version.
I plug it into my car and begin the update, it starts to ask me what kind of tune I want so I select Performance Tune, and I also changed the rev limiter to 8000rpm. When I hit save..it starts to download the info to the car and just gets stuck there. So I unplugged the bully dog and now my car wont start. It makes a clicking noise as if my starter went bad...then my battery dies. Tried jump starting the battery but nothing. I'm getting it towed to Infiniti right now.
So far I'm not happy but not really sure if Bully Dog is to blame. I may have had a bad battery. Anyone experience anything like this or have any ideas???

Thanks

Did you unplug it early?
Have you tried reapplying the tune, or reverting back to stock?

Good luck with Infiniti. They will most likely charge you through the nose for using a customer tune.
I would tell them NOTHING if I was you. You did nothing, you know nothing and you need your car fixed.

Good luck.

Well what had happened is that my battery died early during the download so I had to unplug it cuz it got stuck.

I tried reverting back but it just got stuck on the "download %" screen. Maybe I still did not have enough juice to run it.

I definitely did not tell Infiniti anything cuz they would probably try to blame me.
After I get the new battery I want to try the BD again but I have to say, I am a little scared of the same thing happening.

OK so why did you throw in the battery instead of having towed to Infiniti? I hope you ECU is not in limbo with a partial download.. I would have tossed a battery in and then reinstalled the BD.. But thats just me.. I hope all goes well with Infiniti.
