I'm broke right now. Imagine if I had cash to play with!!!
The wife was home when FedEx came. Ms Injen is leaning against the wall in the dining room. She hasn't asked what it is yet, which surprises me. The box is bigger than I expected.
She probably doesn't want to know.
I think thats not a problem, since air get sucked too fast, there won't be any problem that it would catch head from the pipe, unless it's really really slow, but i think there is nothing such as heat soak, most F/I cars (turbo) use metal piping, i think there is no problem in it, just my POV.
I know. I have to stop. I come here for support but you're all a bunch of bad influences.

I went out to do my install and I was even gonna do a little DIY, but the installation instructions are written so a 3 year old could understand them.
I took a few before pics...

I got 90% through the install and I hit a snag. A snag that I can't get past.
The kit comes with two velocity stacks. These are the tubes that get inserted into the cone filters.
These are then connected with four small bolts to the heat shields. The stacks have metal threaded inserts to accept the bolts.
One of my stacks is faulty... no threads.

I had to go back and uninstall everything I had completed and I'm now back to stock.
Hopefully, they correct the problem quickly.

Maybe there's something buried under the plastic, but I don't know for sure.
I also don't have a tap set kicking around, so I'm screwed (no pun intended) either way.
The pic you referenced sorta looks like something is there, but it's just the chewed up plastic from me trying to thread the first bolt in.
Here's some more shots. I sent them an email. Hopefully, they can send me a new stack without me having to ship this entire box back.

I was looking forward to the howl of new intakes tomorrow morning, but oh well.
I guess it's for the best. I never got around to pulling a dynolicious report before the intakes went in. Now I have the time to do so.

Heck Scott, that sucks. I can't tell by the pics if there is room to tap the new threads. Too bad I wasn't closer, I have everything in my basement, I'd love to help out.
Hopefully they will fix the problem for you quickly.
