I know. I have to stop. I come here for support but you're all a bunch of bad influences.
I'm broke right now. Imagine if I had cash to play with!!!
The wife was home when FedEx came. Ms Injen is leaning against the wall in the dining room. She hasn't asked what it is yet, which surprises me. The box is bigger than I expected.
She probably doesn't want to know.

Yeah def not. Thanks for your initial review, that gave the rest of us the courage to get this. lol.
So, it's been a few days now and I still don't have my part. Injen customer service sucks, or at least it has for my issue. They have yet to reply to any of my emails and unlike other companies who take your calls and try to resolve issues, Injen wants you to deal only with your dealer who sold you the parts.
I bought my SRI through the MyG37 sale thread and was purchased through Kevin at US-AutoTech.
Kevin has been friggen fantastic and I'm not even sure if he's slept yet. He's been non-stop in trying to get this resolved and has gotten Injen to ship me a new part, free of charge, overnight. I just haven't seen it yet and I'm getting impatient.
Kevin told me that Injen instructed me to throw this velocity stack away; there's no need to return it. With that in mind, I decided to tap it and the threads took very nicely. I now have the stacks installed into the heat shields and the filters are nice and snug.
I just may have to finish the install tonight

G'luck with that, Scott! I just pm'd you back about those vinyls.
On a similar note, tomorrow is the day i'll have this baby screaming like crazy. Hopefully the track admins won't let me take the cam down, so i can take videos. It's fastened securely, but you never know.

Instructions?
What are you talking about?!?

Ya know, I saw that yellow piece of paper as I ripped into the box like Charlie finding the golden ticket. I went right for the parts and the instructions. Shame on me

Well, I tried the tap dance and fart method of resetting the ECU a bunch of times but I'm just too damn stupid to get it to work. The cable is off now and I'm waiting for about 30 to go back down and connect it back up again.
I did take it out for a quick 10 minute ride though. Pulling up the driveway and down my quiet road, I found nothing different. I got to the main roads and pulled out and again, car feels and sounds just like normal.
I got into the throttle to about 60% and I heard the grrrr.
I stepped on it and she just started to roar. Just a gorgeous sound. I drove home giggling like a little school girl. I'm going p!ss through gas listening to this thing.
Well, I'm waiting for the ECU so I can see what she really offers, but I'm pretty happy even with my initial ride
By the way, for anyone else going this route, the install is super easy and the instructions are easy to follow, but I got a little confused when it comes time to attach the vinyl trim pieces to the heat shields. Injen gives a total of 5 pieces at different lengths. None of which make sense.
Mike and Brian have both already installed theirs so I asked them for details on how they handled this as well.
I ended up cutting these pieces to size and I was able to create a perfect seal from the boxes to the hood and no corner is exposed to the engine bay, so it came out great.
ANyone getting this kit, don't get hung up like I did... just cut them to size.

...I got 90% through the install and I hit a snag. A snag that I can't get past.
The kit comes with two velocity stacks. These are the tubes that get inserted into the cone filters.
These are then connected with four small bolts to the heat shields. The stacks have metal threaded inserts to accept the bolts.
One of my stacks is faulty... no threads.
I had to go back and uninstall everything I had completed and I'm now back to stock.
Hopefully, they correct the problem quickly.

How did you resolve this? I ordered my intake last week and it was delivered today and one of the velocity stacks has the same issue as yours (i.e. no threads). Damn, I was really looking forward to getting this installed tonight.
I will be contacting Kevin @ US-Autotech in the AM to get a replacement part, or is contacting Injen better? It's a bit unclear since the yellow insert says to contact Injen directly, but the instructions say to contact the vendor.
