clutch pedal on the ground

clutch went to the grounda nd wont come back up i was pretty sure its because the clutch is fully burned out but now im getting second thoughts/opinions and thinking its the slave cylinder? any thoughts???

You should get that checked out... Hopefully you still have a warranty

They will tell you "you need a new clutch". Before you spend $2000 at teh stealership, tell them to flush and bleed the Clutch Master Cylinder and Clutch Slave cylinder. Fixed mine right up and it's been a year now with no problems.

I hope you are aware that infiniti took out a voluntary slave cylinder replacement recall a while back which pretty much addresses your problem, when the clutch is stuck to the floor. Open you hood and chekc the clutch master cylinder the fluids should be gone...

It's a recall so you should be covered 100% unless you already had this done... search for the recall notice here or on infinitihelp and take it with you to the dealer

Link to same problem btw i alsi had this same issue with the clutch being stuck all the way to floor over 1.5yrs ago even before the recall came out and they replaced the slave cylinder and everything has been great so far touch wood.

well heres the thing ive been having problems with my clutch slipping for the longest time...so idk if it mayb really is burned out?

if i check the fluid and the fluid is gone that would mean its definitly the slave cylinder or is there a possibility its still the clutch im just tryin to find out what to do now cuz the car cant move i already ordered the clutch so what are your suggestions??

No, the problem the OP has was not a worn clutch. What you discribe IS a worn clutch.

Those could be 2 different issues. Clutch slippage is your clutch disk wearing to the rivets. A clutch going bad won't cause your clutch pedal to stay stuck on the floor.

The clutch pedal to the ground is most likely your slave cylinder like others have posted.

As others have said, pedal to the ground = no hydraulic pressure so master or slave cylinder issue.

There's no scenario in which case your clutch being worn would cause this problem...unless your pressure plate is getting stuck fully compressed...which I've never even heard of happening.

So is there a possibilty that a bad slave culd have caused the clutch to wear/ burn?? And how do I go about fixing this issue shuld I juss call infiniti and tell them what happened??

Yes, without adequate hydraulic pressure, you pushing the clutch all the way down might not have fully disengaged the clutch and caused unnecessary slipping of a partially engaged clutch at all times.

However, if you've got more than 20-30k miles, it'll be like pulling teeth to get them to agree to warranty both the slave cylinder AND a new clutch. They might pick up a portion of the cost though on a new clutch.

And yes, take it in, the slave cylinder should be a powertrain warranty item.

The thing that upsets me is I mentioned ther recall to them b4 when I started havin the clutch problems and bcause I'm a 19 yr old kid I guess they juss ignored me and now I need it changed when I culdve avioded this prob all together...orlando infiniti has horrible service and ppl who don't know anything about the cars that they work on..
