Question Calling : Stillen Exhaust Owners

I just bought the Stillen exhaust used from someone locally. What was included in your Stillen Exhaust? It seems to be missing the piping from the cat to the resonators....

^ that pipe in the front of the car was not included in the exhaust?

Is that a Y - Pipe?

He actually did the install for me and it sounds good but I think that pipe is suppose to come with the exhaust?

Will it hurt anything if I leave it the way it is without that pipe? Will it affect back pressure? I just forked over some cash for it and now I'm a little disappointed that it didn't come with it...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Adam

That should have included the piece from the cats to the y pipe. The stock y pipe is garbage....but the stillens y pipe is much more free flowing. Seeing as you only have half the better y pipe design you're still gonna get some restriction.....i say the hell with it and get a custom x or h pipe put in and really see some gains.

Ok, I still don't completely understand my situation. The part that connects the cats to the resonators is not the complete y pipe?

I know it's one of the most restrictive parts of the exhaust. I am dissapointed because I didn't realize it until it was installed.

Would using the stock oem pipe that connects the cats cause any negative results combined with the bigger tubing of stillens system.

I researched and it was said it was ok to use a smaller y pipe then the exhaust but if it were the other way around it would negatively affect back pressure.

Any reccomendations? If I did want to add a x or h pipe would I have to weld or cut anything? I quite don't understand how that peice that I thought was a y pipe that connects the cats would be replaced with an h or x pipe...

Can someone please enlighten me on this subject?

Thanks

you can't really replace the y-pipe with an x-pipe without modifying the resonators pipes. You should have also gotten the y-pipe with the exhaust kit. There are no negative effects on using a stock y-pipe with the Stillen exhaust but it's best to use the Stillen y-pipe for best flow.

your not going to damage anything with it as it is now. just your not getting all the gains without it to keep it simple.

Thanks for the info... I'll be purchasing the Y-Pipe separately from Stillen next week.
