New Tuner! Hypertech "Hypermax" for G35-G37!!
I know a custom tune would do far more, but I've been enjoying this thing. Removing that 0-60 throttle restriction makes a huge difference alone. I've even used it a few times to lower the top speed to 25 when I've had to valet the car. hehe
I think it is, if you don't have any UpRev dealers near you. I do, but I wanted to try this thing out. Heck, I purchased it before they even updated it for the 2010 G37. I had it for 6 months before I could even use it. lol

V E R Y bad PR IMHO
Ya it was kinda shocking to see him disappear after we asked him some questions, besides there is one thread on myg37.com where the guy did a before and after dyno and ended up losing power and hypertech had NO answers, now every car does respond differently to tunes and it depends on mods etc but losing power is never acceptable(some might have gained), i think he ended up selling it.
The reality is that there is not a whole lot of easy HP to be gained from the VQ besides forced induction. I run a Cobb Accessport tune on my wife's G. It's a good tune according to my datalogs but the car doesn't feel any faster.

^^ Very true. What few hp are available to be picked up, come at a VERY high price premium too. I see people who've spent thousands and only netted 5-10% gains. I love an NA motor, but if you're looking for value, it hard to compete with going FI on the vq motor.
I enjoy the VQ for what it is from the factory. Besides some exhaust and suspension mods, nothing else is really cost effective. If you want an 11 or 12 sec car than start with a V8 or a factory turbo car (like an Evo or STi). I'm not knocking the VQ. I love our G35. But it was never meant to be all that fast of a car. My point is that these plug and play tuning solutions are just not worth the money since Nissan already nearly maximized the power from the factory.
Thought i'd chime in here. I just picked one of these up today and went for a short drive. I had an Uprev e-tune a while back and sold it because I couldn't justify $500 for my tune (I got this used for much less).
Throttle response and the smoothness of power delivery are the most noticeable changes with this. I'd even venture to say it's better than with my Uprev tune. It also seems to have more power during and after shifting than stock. The engine also sounds more aggressive, just like it did with the Uprev tune. Power gains are there (I think), but it's not a mind-blowing difference. But to expect much more from an NA engine is foolish. IMO, the changes above are probably worth the price alone.
I'm heading out for another drive, but if there's interest i'll post up some more driving impressions later on. Right now i'm trying to determine if I should select the Stillen or Takeda intake tuning option offered by Hypertech. I currently have a K&N drop-in and Z-tube, and one of those may be better than tuning for a stock intake.

This is as good as you're gonna get from me
Did some more driving last night. Car definitely feels like it has a little more power throughout the powerband. Again, nothing groundbreaking, but it's definitely there.
