Hey Rob.

More details on what you've gotten installed would be helpful....also where are you from? and when you said that BC stage 2 made a huge gain, could you quantify that in numbers.

Yes, Rob. Please tell more. Which headers did you use. What tuning software did you use? Tuned professionally on a dyno, or street tune? Thanks.

lol Q8y I'd love to have a drag with you

....on a side note, every time I start thinking of serious hardware for the car I'm always left in a dilemma.

I will be changing my car in 2 years.....so is it worth installing engine components like these cams and sc kits or should I just save up for whatever I get next....Choices choices they'll never end

Why not keep the G?
Rarely do you get a car that is reliable, fast, and looks nice.

My friend has a 335i, costs $22,000 more than my car and the problems never end. Fuel pump replaced 3 times, BOV's leak, rear brakes have a factory defect, turbo's are dying (he rarely pushes the car to it's limits), TPMS issues, radio issues, idle vibration issues, crappy A/C, etc.

His brother, just bought an Audi S5 for more than twice the price of my G, it's only done 5,000km's and the engine mounts are cracked, the AWD transfer case is having serious issues and the car just sucks when it comes to high way speeds. It's so slow lol

I mean the only car I can think of that replaces my G is maybe a used 350Z HR, a 370Z (as much as I hate the VHR lol) or maybe the new Silvia replacement Nissan is supposedly working on.

BTW, my friend owns a 350Z (DE), it's got full bolt on, mild cams and uprev dyno tune. It made 294whp on the dyno, on the street the car is insane. For an N/A car, it pulls hard all the way to the raised red line of 7,200rpm.

Here's an HR Z with Tomei cams>

I had the same problem. -Wanting that damn 335i- But I can't see spending an extra 10 grand "upgrading" to the equivilant of the car I already have. Now that I have come to my senses, it's time to mod. Just picked up a cobb, I am making my own intake, and I have headers, all waiting in the garage for the warranty to wear off. I will upgrade car when the G35 is wore out, a long, long time from now.

If I could keep the G I would but I can't, I have to sell it if I want to buy something new.

I can keep a second car as a "family car" but if I'm keeping the G it won't be very family friendly

mod the crap out of the G and get a maxima or something as a family car.

My goal with the G is to end up with a 4-door turbo street machine in 5~10 years or so (and yes I plan to keep it for a LONG time). Kinda like the IS300's and GS300's with 2JZ's. You don't see many of these around but they can be absolute sleepers

Fuel pump replaced 3 times, warranty
BOV's leak, oem is divertor valves, not bov
rear brakes have a factory defect, not that I heard of or experienced, but warranty
turbo's are dying (he rarely pushes the car to it's limits), very, very rare, unless he's tuned and overboosting. warranty may not apply
TPMS issues, never had this, butwarranty
radio issues, what kind of issues? but, warranty
idle vibration issues, never had this, but warranty
crappy A/C, etc. a/c was fine to me and better imo than the G, but warranty
Your friend must have a "Friday built car" lol. I just sold mine after 2.5 years, and only had a handful of really minor problems.
