For sound only?

I currently have a completely stock exhaust system. If i wanted to get more sound out of it (perf not necessary), what would be the most economical route?

I'm not really looking into a full cat-back if i can do it with a muffler or x-pipe (?) swap.

Thanks.

p.s. 5AT and i am not a fan of drone at any rpm.

Before I got the FI, I installed magnaflow rear cans.
The gave a nice mild, mellow increase.

There are a few threads floating around here somewhere.

Just take the rear cans off haha. i did it while i was waiting on my FI exhaust... its pretty much 2 bolts on clamps and they come right off.. the exhaust is supported fine by the rear supports and it actually doesnt sound too bad, at least for a free mod. if you are just looking for sound check out the Tanabe Axelback.

Remember you need some back pressure.

Have you thought of HFCs?

I had them installed on my stock exhaust system and I loved them,

they added a really nice deeper tone to the car, no where near drone.

Also it freed up more power which is always a +
