Cobb tune....

Are folks happy with the Cobb tune with the AP ?

Stage 1 with K+N filters and axle back ?
Stage 2 with K+N filters and HFCs/Axle backs ?

How do the other tunes compare ?

Real world thoughts ?

most people got better result from the Cobb AP by using the Stage 1 map when they have exhaust/hfc/intake. They get better power as well as better A/F ratios. Either way, it's best to dyno tune the car rather than use a canned map. Most people here opt for Uprev rather than Cobb since they give better results. are your filters K&N drop-ins or is it an intake?

i like mine. there really isnt much power from stage 1 and 2. i got 5whp from stage 2+. and then the pro tune got 15whp. so total was 20whp. so if your using just stage 1 2 then im guessing your looking up to 5whp for $600. thats not really worth it.

i also like the valet map, which limits your revs to 2krpm. so dropping the car off for any work or service i install that map in the parking lot takes 10 mins and i let the guy go ahead and try to play. also if i need to bring it for warranty work can also change it back to stock in 10 mins and no problem there.

hope that helps.

Mixed feeling for me. There are some gains. I am using a custom tune, but it keeps throwing a check engine light. I have not had time to really look into it, but I will be at Cobb tomorrow to get an alignment and I will talk to them about the issue. I am currently using the "stock" map with no issues. It actually did better than the stage 1/2 maps I tested out. My custom tune was the best, but I got tired of the check engine light issue.

I have a Invidia catback exhaust and K&N drop-in filters.

I'm running a custom UpRev Osiris tune from GTM, not Cobb, but I definitely saw an improvement in gas mileage (apx 2 mpg)... I've been averaging about 21 mpg (20.9 to be exact) for the past 10 - 12 months since the tune, up from 18.8 mpg average prior to that.

cobb AP with R2C

I NEED SOME QUICK ADVISE,
I JUST GOT A R2C INTAKE AND A COBB AP.
I INTSALLED THE COBB ON A STAGE I SETTING AND. FEEL A BIG IMPROVEMENT ON HOW THE CAR PULLS ALTHOUGH NOT BACKED UP BY DYNO TEST.
MY QUESTION IS ONCE I INTALL THE R2C CAN I STILL USE THE STAGE I MAP. I KNOW I SHOULD GET A PROTUNE AND EVENTUALY I WILL BUT FOR NOW WHAT DO YOU RECOMMENT I USE AS A MAP...OH ITS A 08 G35X.
THANKS

You can use the Stage 1 map but you need to verify that your AFR is good. Dyno the car with and without the Cobb AP to check that you're ok. Several guys saw leaner AFR's with Stage 1 maps than with stock tune when it should be the opposite.
