Service Engine Soon warning light
Service Engine Soon warning light
My service engine soon light won't go off, been on for a a few days. I tightened the gas cap to make sure it wasn't that and it is still on. Checked my manual and it says Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and that it may indicate a potential emission control malfunction. Has anyone had this light come one and taken it to the dealer to find out what the issue was? I'll be calling my dealing in the morning to schedule an appointment. I have 58,759 on the ticker, still under warranty.
so did you take it somewhere and get the code read? mine used to throw the 420 code because of my exhaust mods. Just take it in and hope for the best. Also... when did you buy your car? Make sure it is still under the 3 year part of the warranty.
If yours is an automatic have them check out your transmission.... my 3rd gear felt sluggish and they ended up putting a new tranny in it last month.

Thanks Pinkii! I will be at 3yrs this Tuesday so I better drop it off at the dealership in the morning. I don't have any engine mods and have no idea what code it is throwing. I'll let the dealership figure it out in the morning. Stay tuned...

No problem. I am just lucky that I have 2 awesome shops with mechanics I trust who look at my car everytime I get a "girl" noise. Then they look at me like Im crazy but if something is wrong they tell me and I take it to the dealer.
Well the code came back as P2A00, P2A00 - O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1. Invoice says ran code procedures, cleared code, test drove light no longer on. I don't know if I should be concerned or not. Stay tuned...it rides fine though.
