if your going to go with resonators still i would go ahead and completely ditch the stock ypipe and install a magnaflow x muffler. check this thread out. its the same muffler Fast intentions uses on their system, and guys have installed this to replace their ypipe and resinators. it gives no drone or rasp and a deeper note.

Performance peddler has them for under 80 bucks with the code when you add it to the cart

Magnaflow 11385

do a little more searching and you will find people have had pretty good luck with these

From: Waltham Ma,
I did see this tread when he was doing it becasue at the time I had HFC's-- but I do not or WILL NEVER AGAIN install HFC's. If that matters.. But this is better option than resonators?

^ from a performance standpoint, supposedly yes. The stock y-pipe, from what i've gathered, is rather restrictive. The Magna's open it up some. Between this and new cans in the back, the former is better suited for gains.

Austin, do you think it's okay to have the Magna's further up, nearer the engine? Because of my 6pt brace, it won't fit over the middle brace (in that pic you posted, they removed it altogether). If it can move up a few inches, the area without the heat shields, it would fit, but not sure how that affects anything else (my guess is, engine>cats>magna's would make for a really tight bend)

Thanks.

Well my Factory tunnel brace fits no problems with the Magnaflow on the FI system, i wouldnt see an issue having it up closer, but especially if youre an X it would have some extra bending to do around that transfer case. im sure any reputable Exhaust shop could make it work to fit and sit up high enough to clear your brace no problem.

it will be cheaper and more efficent than using regular resinators. if your not going to replace the ypipe theres really no point in replacing the resinators either.
